🏰☀️Sulthana's heart pounded as she entered the dimly lit room where Mirza's second wife, Amina, was being held.
Amina, a woman in her early 40s, sat on a simple wooden chair in the center of the room. Her long black hair, streaked with gray, was tied back in a loose braid.
She wore a faded, worn-out dress that hung loosely on her thin frame. Her face was pale, and deep lines of worry etched her forehead. Her wide eyes, filled with fear and confusion, darted around the room, unable to focus on anything for long.
Sulthana wasted no time, stepping forward with an air of authority.
"Amina, what do you know of Mirza's escape? Who is he working with?" Her voice was sharp, cutting through the silence like a knife.
Amina, sitting on the simple wooden chair, shook her head, her voice trembling as she responded. "I have no idea, Mallika Saheba. My husband never shared his plans with me. I didn't even know he was alive until your men arrived at my door."
Sulthana's eyes narrowed as she studied Amina's face. "Is there anything you know that could break Mirza's silence? Anything at all?"
Amina hesitated, her gaze dropping to the floor. "My husband never treated me fairly. But there was one person he loved more than his wealth and lavish lifestyle: our son." Her voice broke, and tears streamed down her face.
"But... my son... my son... he..." Amina broke down completely, sobbing.Sulthana's tone softened slightly. "Your son?" she asked, a hint of nervousness in her voice.
Amina wiped her tears and took a deep breath before continuing.
"My son fell sick a year after my husband was arrested. With his lands taken away by Queen Numaira, and Mufas, his first wife, taking all the remaining wealth for herself and fleeing from Amruthsthaan, I had no money for his treatment. I tried taking loans, but he soon passed away. That is why I moved to Jabalpur, to escape the painful memories.""My condolences to you, Amina. As a mother myself, I understand your pain," Sulthana said, her voice filled with genuine sympathy.
Amina nodded, her tone now hinting at determination. "You can use his name if you want, Mallika Saheba. It would be an honor for my son if his name could help in serving justice. I am sure my husband does not know that our son is dead yet. I haven't spoken about it to anyone."
Sulthana's eyes widened in admiration. "You are a brave woman, Amina. But how do we do it?"
They paused, contemplating the plan. Suddenly, a voice interrupted their thoughts.
"I have an idea, Ammi."Sulthana turned to see her daughter enter the room. "Sania?"
Sania approached them, her expression resolute.
"We will pretend that we have captured their son in order to interrogate him. Amina should plead with Mirza, telling him that if he does not speak, his son will be harmed. Maybe under that pressure, the wretched old man will finally talk."
