The grandeur of Indrapur Palace softened as the sun dipped behind the distant mountains, casting long shadows over its intricate architecture.
Inside his chambers, King Abhinandan Rajvanshi sat on his bed, his back resting against the intricately carved headboard.
He held a book in his hands, his gaze absorbed in the words, his mind wandering through the realms of imagination.
A soft voice gently pulled him from his reverie. "Maharaj, what are you reading with such interest?"
Abhinandan looked up, startled but pleased, to see his wife, Queen Anushka, standing at the doorway with a warm smile.
Her beauty was captivating; her long, flowing hair cascaded like a dark river down her back, and her eyes sparkled with a blend of curiosity and affection. She wore a simple, yet elegant saree that hugged her graceful figure, the soft fabric highlighting her delicate features.
Abhinandan returned her smile, quickly closing the book and setting it aside, the cover turned away from her view.
He gazed at her lovingly, taking in her serene presence. "Oh, nothing of great consequence, my queen, just tales of love and valor," he replied, a playful glint in his eyes.
Anushka's smile widened as she glanced from the book to Abhinandan. "I thought your queen would be the one to captivate your attention," she said softly, her voice tinged with playful allure as she gracefully climbed onto the bed.
The gentle rustle of her saree was the only sound in the quiet room.
"But it seems Maharaj is more enchanted by those old tales than by his queen," she teased, her voice carrying a soft, playful lilt as she nestled beside him.
Abhinandan instinctively wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer, her head resting on his firm chest.
Anushka felt the quickening rhythm of Abhinandan's heartbeat beneath her cheek as her fingers lightly traced the contours of his strong arm.
She looked up and found him gazing at her, his eyes filled with an intense, affectionate warmth that made her own heart race. His love was evident in every line of his face.
"How could any tale compare to the enchantment of my queen? No story could ever hold my attention like you do." he murmured, brushing a stray lock of hair away from her face and tucking it behind her ear as he admired her.
Anushka blushed, her cheeks glowing softly. She cleared her throat before speaking, "Such sweet words, Maharaj. But you shouldn't let your queen get too used to them," she replied, her smile tinged with a hint of shyness as she tried to deflect his compliment.
