Blades makes the choice of his life.
____________________________________________________________________________________________It was awkward.
Sitting there, in front of his sire that he was told to be dead ever since he was born, now facing him. There was tiredness, regret, tons of guilt being expressed on that face plate Blades could see and he couldn't even tell if it made him feel sick or not each passing moment he seemed to stare.
"I didn't think you would show up." Budlight, that was his name, it was only so familiar because it was similar to something on earth. "I would've deserved it though if you didn't show up like you said you would."
"I debated not to come, but my companion convinced me to give it a shot." Blades responds, sort of letting the mech before him know that he missed something rather major already.
"Oh, I bet they are lovely." Budlight really didn't seem to know, noticing how vague Blades was when he started it. When he said those words, he certainly felt awkward about it. "I guess I missed more than I thought."
"Yeah, you did." Blades responds, almost knowing that was going to be said. "You walked out on him, you know."
"I couldn't take it, Blades, no part of me felt right to raise you." His guilt felt to be in full overdrive for a second. "I knew I couldn't be the greatest to you in that moment and so I left, then I wanted to find you but you were basically gone."
"That was your choice and we ended up moving." He knows Chase told him to be himself, but no part of him could bring that up right now, he barely knows who this mech is before him. "It was your choice to leave when the opportunity came along and you did, now I have a choice to accept you back."
"You don't want to." Budlight quickly guessed that was his answer, which he was not wrong about. "I get it, I suck."
"You aren't a bad bot, I can see you mean good, but I cannot accept you right now, that needs to take time." Blades explains. "I have a little one of my own, but I will not stop her if she wants to see you, and I will not stop my companion either if he wants to meet you as well."
There was a quick moment of silence, one that seemed to stretch for a long time before Blades continued.
"If you do ever threaten my family in any way that I do not like though, I do plan to cut you off for good." Blades warns. "I am happy with my life now, and if you want to be a part of that, it will take more time than you think."
"I am only happy you are choosing to try and accept me." After his words, Blades thought for a moment, as if he wanted to say something he never thought he would speak of, something so unlike him.
"To be honest, I do not want to regret it."
Budlight knew Blades had zero trust in his own sire but it was deserved, no trust like that can be accepted so fast and Budlight knows he was always the exact same way when he was younger.
As Blades said his goodbyes for this meeting, Budlight could see the splitting image of himself he could see within the mech, being so much like his sire but yet with Ratchet, it made it more seem it was more of Ratchet in Blades.
Maybe if Budlight was there, things would've been different.
