24: My Duck - S

Chase wants his duck back now.

Boulder has never run so fast in his entire life.

Apparently there was an emergency going on in one of the hallways, which one? Honestly, Boulder doesn't really know them all by name and physically only knows them by what rooms are in them. It took him a good while to actually figure out what one Blades was talking about but Boulder had to go to the other side of the academy to reach it.

"IS SOMEONE DYING?!" That was Boulder's first though, after all, here was no other context except for the fact it was really an emergency.

He noticed how Chase was just curled up on the ground, still, almost as if some sort of shock laid over him like a big blanket. He seemed to be muttering to himself about something, but there was nothing really comprehensive to it.

Blades was beside him, trying to be a bit supportive but even still trying to get Chase to stop doing what he was doing. The whole scene still didn't make any sense at the moment, context very much needed in order to have a next course of action.

"He's not dying, right?" It was just a double check, and Blades nodded to confirm that statement.

"He is sad, looking very depressed." Blades answers. "He was investigating where his duck went and found it."

"So, if he found it, where is it?" Boulder really needed to know how much of an emergency this could technically be with the source of information he was getting right now.

"When we asked Cody, he said he put it in one of the bins-"

"I feel like there is a 'but' coming." He had to cut Blades off because he truly felt like there was going to be a bigger problem.

"-but Cody doesn't remember which one or where it went." Chase went back to crying, as he apparently was doing before Boulder arrived. "We searched a couple before Chase has fully given up and Heatwave is currently dumpster diving to try and see if it ended up there."

"Right, we have a ton of bins." Boulder could calculate that there had to be at least over a hundred of them in the building, and one which held a single duck, not to mention over twenty they have leading to the dumpsters outside. "Does Heatwave know we have like five dumpsters?"

"Apparently we have seven in total, I have no idea where the other two came from." Blades responds. "But Heatwave said he needs a deep clean anyway and searching the dumpster would make it a guarantee, so, I have no idea where he is at with that."

"So you want me to search the other bins we have to find the duck?" Boulder questions, thinking this had to be the only reason he was summoned.

"Yep." Blades honestly couldn't do this on his own anyway. "I've gotten through a couple of them here but when I finish searching a bin, Chase wails."

"And how long has it been?"

"Well, it takes me around five minutes depending on what is in the bin and then calming Chase down is another ten." Blades says. "I've only gotten through three because of that."

"Heatwave, find anything in the dumpsters yet?" Boulder checks in, not knowing how far that has been cleaned through.

"I have found many things that make me question what is being put in these dumpsters!" Honestly, they could all feel there were about to be regulations for what is thrown in those now. "No duck yet but I did find a cube of energon in here somehow!"

"I'll get searching." Boulder wasn't even going to try and get out of it, he didn't have anything else to do anyway.

It took five whole hours to find that duck, which was in a bin that ended up in the seventh dumpster and was buried under a nest of other junk. Boulder made sure to give it a good deep cleaning because it literally stunk, and Chase certainly was quite happy to be holding his favorite lucky duck once more.

Cody apologized a great deal for the whole catastrophe that was caused and did offer something to even it out but the bots said that he was all good and didn't need to worry about it. Chase was quick to fall into recharge as the other three were in much need to clean the academy from their searching mess and Heatwave went to get a very deep clean that was very much needed.
