36: Winter Thoughts - S

Blades and Heatwave have a normal conversation.

"We really need to invest in some better heaters where the ground bridge is." Blades says, physically shivering as he grabs himself some energon. "when that thing is sent to the blistering cold, it is freezing in that room for weeks!"

"Boulder says he would have to basically disassemble the entire room to do that, but he and I both surely agree with you on that." Heatwave says. "Maybe when the first year is done he'll get that done, not to mention winter like that is something I haven't felt in years."

"What do you mean?" Blades was so confused how this is possible.

"Listen, although High Tide explores the ocean and stuff, he will never go somewhere snow is." Heatwave explains. "Although I literally live with him on the boat and we are docked on Griffin Rock, he has talked with me about going elsewhere for Christmas this time around."

"Really?! How could he?!" Blades was shocked by this news. "Please tell me you haven't agreed to that yet."

"Obviously not, Christmas has literally been the only time I see everyone if it is not for rescue missions." Heatwave says. "He did mention leaving for New Year's though, which I was skeptical about and he was too concerned with how much snow and ice there would be."

"It sounds like he's allergic to the cold."

"Honestly, he acts like he's dying from it sometimes." Heatwave points out. "Have you ever wondered why he hugs me so much when it is cold outside?"

"That makes so much sense." Blades comments, somehow only realizing this now. "But still, I can't believe he wants to not be on Griffin Rock for Christmas this year!"

"I told him that I know it won't last forever and I will eventually agree to go elsewhere for the holiday but I ain't agreeing to that now." Heatwave says. "He even tried to use Servo against me for that."

"I know well enough that it doesn't work." Blades says, knowing that there are only a few things that budge Heatwave. "Please stay for Christmas though."

"Working on that." honestly, it was going to be a battle with that until the final agreement came around. "Boulder, what are you doing?"

Blades looks over, not even knowing the bot had entered the room to begin with. Boulder is just standing there, almost looking displeased.

"You said you were going to fill me in on the new episode of The Bachelor!" Boulder says, "no, tell me what happened."

"And I will tell you again for the fifth time this week, I literally do not know." the bot replies. "I keep falling into recharge while watching and then am rudely jolted back up when High Tide practically busts my audio receptors."

"Then maybe you should just stop recharging during that time." Blades suggests, as if it was completely obvious.

"I have tried but this place is taking my lifespan." Heatwave responds. "Honestly, please just go ask High Tide if you are begging this much."

"and tell him to stay in Griffin Rock for Christmas?" Boulder must have been hearing of the conversation earlier as he mentions something from before.

"Sure, I literally do not care."

"I am coming!" Heatwave could already guess how that would go as Blades and Boulder left the room.
