Stand and Fight

A few weeks later

It's been a few weeks since we started looked at Leo's gene crap and since then he's been alright but my treatments have also started back up again. I've mainly been laying in bed for the past few days as it's really been knocking my ass out flat which isn't good for trying to get used to the new leg. But today I actually felt decent enough to get out of bed and actually be apart of the family for once. So far zero word from Matt but I guess that means he's doing okay. Once I got up and dressed into a baggy tee and sweats I headed into the kitchen as Amanda was making something to eat. "Hey you're up how are you feeling?" She said as I sat down at the bar placing my head on the counter still feeling like shit. "Better to get out of bed but I still have no fucking appetite I'm sorry." She smiled patting my head as the smell of her omelet making just made my whole body feel so fucking nauseated as I grabbed the bin next to me coughing up the bit of bile from god knows where.

"Shit I'm sorry if some scents make you sick Josh. Why don't you tell them that this one is making you sick all the time?" I sighed walking over to the couch grabbing the blanket and laying back down as I just felt so cold. "I-I don't want to be a bother...and because it's starting to shrink the shit in my lungs." She walked over kneeling down next to me sliding the fake leg off my stump and setting it beside the couch. "Just so you don't forget to take it off. But you should say something Josh cause even the meds to try to calm down your stomach isn't working anymore." I smiled pretty weakly as she placed a cup of water and my meds next to me and my phone just incase anyone were to call. "I'll see when I'm in next and if they even have anything else that could continue to shrink this shit, love." I said weakly as she tucked me in as I slowly closed my eyes falling asleep.

Amanda's POV

After Josh fell asleep again I got up grabbing my phone and texting Matt since I've been keeping him in the loop with Josh's conditions since he asked me to keep him updated while he's away. I walked into the kitchen grabbing the baby monitor and sitting down at the breakfast bar pulling up our messages.

Amanda: Hey just a bit of an update the new treatment its making him so sick Matt and he's being too stubborn to bring it up to his oncologist when he has his next infusion later today.

Matt: Of course he's being stubborn and go with him and bring it up to them today.

I guess that's one way I'm able to advocate for him while he's being too stubborn to see that he needs to speak up about it. I checked my phone to see when the appointment in as its in an hour an a half. Oh great now I need him to get up and go take a shower or try to. I sighed getting up and finishing eating my breakfast before waking him up as I knew it would take a moment to even get him to wake up. I looked over at Leo asleep in his little swing as he was smiling in his sleep. I'm glad that so far from the scans there's nothing developing at all in his body yet. I swear when that day comes that it starts causing issues.

After finishing up breakfast I walked over to where Josh was sleeping and I kneeled down next to him shaking him lightly. "Josh hey you've gotta take a shower before I take you to the next infusion appointment in about an hour." I said as he actually opened his eyes smiling for once. "I thought...it was next week?" He said sitting up slowly as I shook my head as it seemed like he was about a week behind. "Last week is this week love. Now come on I can help you to the bathroom." He shook his head putting his leg back on and slowly standing up. "Its fine it's not too dizzy while walking." He said kissing the top of my head as I smiled standing up. "Just thank you for taking care of me while I've been really fucking weak." I stood up on the tip of my feet kissing him softly as I heard a little squeak. "Fuck!" I pulled away looking over at our kid as he was awake and giggling.
