Worlds Collide

Continuing from where we left off - Matt's POV

While I was playing my parts to where Josh was flying over the crowd I looked up at him after he screamed something into the mic. "Let me down!" Oh god what is happening now? I glanced up at the wires as it looked like they were snapping then they snapped as he fell directly onto the floor as I took off my guitar jumping off of the stage running over to him in a state of panic. "Josh move!" I heard Melvin say as I looked up where the wires were and I could see one starting to fall right over his neck. "Move him!" I screamed trying to reach him but someone pulled me back and it pierced his throat right as paramedics came running over assessing the situation. "W-Why did you stop me?! I could've gotten him out of the way before it pierced his throat! But why did you let him continue on with the wires if you knew they were faulty?!" I said pretty loudly as I was pretty pissed off at them for even thinking of putting Josh in danger. "We didn't want you to get hurt as well, and we said something to Josh but he didn't care. So if you want to blame someone blame him now are you riding with him?" I nodded taking out my in ears as Melvin handed me his phone. "Call his girlfriend to let her know what happened." Of course I have to be the one to call Amanda.

I sighed following the stretcher out to the parking lot unlocking Josh's phone as he gave me the code for it a while ago, and pulled up Amanda's number on his phone calling her up. "Hey Amanda it's Matt." I heard her kid crying as I stopped walking for a moment. "What happened now cause I know it can't be good if you're calling me on his phone." I shook my head leaning up against the wall. "No it's not good, you know the lift he goes up on for the opening of the show and the ending? Well the wires snapped and one of them fell onto his throat and yeah he's not okay but I'm more worried about if it hit his vocal chords than anything. But he's okay ish they're bringing him to the hospital in Hamilton so incase you want to come and bring Leo with you." I heard her basically scream out of frustration. "You have got to be fucking kidding me! I knew he would somehow get himself almost dead again! I'm so done with this Matt." Man that is so freaking selfish of her.

"Amanda it's not like he meant for the wires to snap it was an accident. I get it Leo's sick but he will need you for when he wakes cause I don't know if his chords got damaged or not and if they are, he'll be back in his spiral if he can't sing anymore and he'll need you." I said as I started walking again. "Matt I can't...these voices they won't let me." Wait what is she talking about? "Amanda what do you mean by the voices? What's going on?" I said kind of concerned giving the rig a sign to wait for a moment. "It's nothing and I'll find a way to get to Josh the best I can okay?" She said hanging up as I believe there's way more that she's not telling me or herself. I sighed hopping into the back of the rig as they were trying to see how deep the cords went into his throat.

"Did it hit his vocal chords or anything?" I said sitting down taking his hand into mine as they all looked over at me. "Who's this?" One of them said as I sighed rolling my eyes. "I'm his friend and also the guitarist for the band so did it hit his chords or not?" I said with a kinda pissed off tone. "We can't tell but we're five minutes out and they'll figure it out." They said as the ambulance started moving as I looked back over at Josh as he was still out cold but I am really hoping that it didn't damage his vocal chords. If it did then well, he might not be able to do what he loves anymore and I know he won't come to terms with if he's not able to sing anymore.

Josh's Pov

I slowly started coming around as all I could feel was pain but all I could see were doctors trying to figure out what's wrong with me but I couldn't hear what they were saying. Wait why can't I hear anything? Is it from the impact? I started struggling to breathe then I felt something being jabbed into my chest and then I started coughing out of relief. Good...I'm not paralyzed from this fall... I thought to myself as I was starting to struggle to breathe again as they started looking into my ears. I could see someone mouth saying that I don't think I can hear them. Which he is right, I can't and it's so weird to not be able to hear. I felt them turn me over to the side which just really fucking hurt as I could see Matt sliding down the wall in the corner as our eyes met for a split second. Matt...he's safe...that's the main thing. Then I could feel someone shove their fingers into my mouth, what the fuck are they doing?! After that all I could feel was extreme pain coming from my mouth then someone shoving a tube down my throat and I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore.
