"I can't wait to be sorted!" I say excitedly.

"I know! I'm so excited to find out what house I'll be in," Bff/n says.

"Hi, can we join you guys?" A red-headed girl asks walking into the compartment Bff/n and I are in along with a boy with black hair.

"Totally! I am Y/n L/n and this is my best friend Bff/n Bff/Ln" I introduce us.

"Nice to meet you! I am Lily Evans and this is Severus Snape," Lily introduces herself and the boy.

"Nice to meet you!" Bff/n says. Lily smiles and sits beside Bff/n.

"So, what do you know about Hogwarts?" Lily asks looking at Bff/n.

"Oh I don't know much, I was adopted by a muggle family. Y/n knows everything though, her family members are all Witches and Wizards," Bff/n says.

"That's so cool! What  can you tell me about Hogwarts?" Lilya asks looking at me.

"Well, The castle is huge and beautiful! The teachers are nice and I know there are secret passages and things just waiting to be found," I say smiling.

"That's so cool!" Lily says and I smile.

"Yeah, My big brother B/n is a third year this year. He's spent the past two years writing and telling me about his time here! I know a few secret passages and places to hang out already," I say confidently.

"That's so cool," Severus says smiling.

 "I just know the four of us are going to be the best of friends," I say smiling happily. Lily and Bff/n nod. After plenty of talking the train stops and everyone gets off. Bff/n, Lily, Severus, and I all follow the other first years. I lead the way for our small group.

"We get to go on boats, the older grades take the carriages," I explain.

"Why do we take boats?" Lily asks.

"So we can see the castle in all its glory and beauty," I explain.

"Oh, okay," Lily says happily.

"Let's get on this one!" I say walking over to a boat. After a short boat ride, we all walk to the Great Hall entrance. We all stand there and wait until McGonagall walks over.

"Okay, students, follow me to be sorted," McGonagall says. The sorting goes on and son it was Lily's turn.

"Gryffindor!" The hat yells out shortly after Lily, Bff/n gets called.

"Gryffindor!" The hat yells out again. My heart starts pounding, 'what will happen if I get sorted into a different house... will we all stay friends?' I think worriedly. I'm then brought away from my worries as my name is called. I walk to the stool and sit down. I  take a deep breath as the hat is placed on my head. After a short while the  Hat yells out my house and my heart sinks.

"Slytherin!" The hat yells out. I look over to Lily and Bff/n and they seem to be talking to one another. I frown as I walk to the table with the green robes. I sigh and watch as people get sorted one by one. Soon it was Severus' turn.

"Slytherin!" The hat yells out. I smile as he makes his way to the table. He sits beside me and we talk as the rest of the students get sorted. Once the sorting ended I made my way to find Bff/n.
