The team was not aware of the leave Kalmin had received at all. Aaron kept it a secret from the team to give Kalmin some time to rest after everything that has happened. The only person that knew was David as he was the one of the closest people to Aaron. JJ looked over at the empty desk and stood up, walking over to it. She began lifting stuff up from his desk, being nosy. "What are you doing?" Penelope asked JJ jumped and placed the objects back down onto his desk. She turned to Penelope with a guilty look on her face. "Looking at his stuff. He doesn't talk about his life, so I was trying to profile him." JJ explained "Why can't you leave him alone?" Emily asked "What do you mean?" JJ asked Emily's eyes widened, "The fact you lied to him about everything and now are snooping through his things! He will tell us when he's ready!" JJ rolled her eyes before walking back over to her desk and continued to do her paperwork. Emily pulled out her phone and texted Kalmin to make sure he was ok, only to get no response. She sighed but let it go as he has been through a lot during his first two weeks. She walked over to her desk and continued to do her own work. Every one of the team were concerned about Kalmin but they let it go; however, someone wasn't quite ready to let it go.

Kalmin was cleaning his apartment as he was trying to distract himself from his thoughts. He was cleaning his kitchen counter when he heard someone knock on his door. He frowned confused before walking over to look through the peep hole. He sighed and rolled his eyes when he saw who was outside his door. JJ. He opened the door and looked at her with a scowl. "What do you want?" Kalmin asked "I just wanted to make sure you were ok? You didn't come into work today." JJ tells him "I guess Hotch didn't tell you guys that I took a couple days off." Kalmin concluded JJ frowned, "Why did you take a couple days off?" "It is none of your business. Now, leave." Kalmin tells her "No! I want to know why!" JJ denied "Why can't you just drop it?! Don't you have to be at work right now?" Kalmin asked "I left so I could come see you! Kal I-" "Don't call me that!" Kalmin snipped "Kalmin, I am sorry for everything that I caused! I admit that I manipulated you and I admit that I ruined my marriage with Will. I do! But I also admit that I have crazy feelings about you! Please!" JJ rants Kalmin shook his head, "Whatever you think we have, it doesn't exist. Goodbye, JJ." Kalmin closed his door and walked back to his kitchen to finish wiping the counters. He looked over to see his phone turn on to see a message from Emily. He walked over to the phone and grabbed it so he could read her message. 'Did JJ come see you?' was what the message read. He replied back with 'Yes.' as he turned his phone back off and continued cleaning his kitchen. Another knock was heard making him sigh and head over to his door again. He looked through the peephole and sighed in relief to see it wasn't JJ again. He opened the door and looked at Emily. "Hey, are you ok?" Emily asked "Yeah, I just needed a couple days to myself after everything." Kalmin replied Emily nodded, "I understand your feelings. Can I come in?" Kalmin backed up so she could enter before closing the door. Emily looked around his apartment to get a view of his personality. She knew he was a minimalist from the moment she met him but didn't expect him to be this minimalist. Emily felt something rub against her ankle and looked down to see an orange cat that was half white as well, meowing. "That's Doongie." Kalmin tells her "Hello Doongie! I'm Emily!" Doongie rubbed against her leg again, making her smile as she knelt down to pet his head. Kalmin clicked his tongue to call for the other cats in the house, only for Emily to see Soonie and Dori make their way over to them. Soonie was mostly orange with a little bit of white on his belly, while Dori was all gray. "They are so cute!" Emily tells him "They are basically my children." Kalmin replied "That's how Sergio is for me." Emily tells him "I bet he has a personality." Kalmin replied "He's a cuddle bug that is for sure!" Emily giggled Kalmin knelt down and picked up Soonie like a baby as he turned to face Emily. She smiled as she got to see a softer side of the man in front of her. It seems like having cats gave him a sense of peace. "I wanted to make sure JJ didn't cause any more problems for you. We all seen her snooping at your desk earlier as well." Emily tells him Kalmin nodded, "Thank you. It means a lot that you would protect my space." Kalmin placed Soonie back down as Emily nodded with a smile. He pulled out cat treats for the cats and fed them some for being nice to Emily. "Are they always this sweet?" Emily asked "No, they hissed at JJ when she came over 'drunk.' They don't like the smell of alcohol or just don't like anyone being gross around me. They seem to like you; it might be because they can smell your cat on you." Kalmin explained "I'm glad they like me. I bet they will like Sergio. He's kind of chill like them." Emily tells him "Has anyone asked about me?" Kalmin asked "Everyone has been wondering where you were but didn't want to call or text you because we wanted to give you your space." Emily explained Kalmin nodded as he pets Dori's head while Emily pet Soonie's. He looked at her petting his cat with a grin. He was glad his cats liked her, so it gives him the sense to keep her around. Hopefully, nothing bad happens to the point he could lose her.
