To say Rolus had the best sleep of his life would be an understatement. It was still day of course, but sleep managed to find both of them.

At first, Rolus was surprised to find Luke holding on tight to him, but he relished in that. At least he was not shunning him out.

They spent most of the day in bed and it was the best. When Luke awoke, there was the initial awkwardness, but it dissolved into thin air when Rolus filled the silence with some of the stories he left out when he told Luke of what happened the two years he lost.

One of the Pack members brought their lunch and put it in the kitchen.

Rolus brought the food into their bedroom, happy to have the lunch in bed.

He wanted to take full advantage of the fact that Luke did not have the urge to kill him. Was it the effects of spending time together? How long would it last? That's what he asked himself.

Rolus felt a headache already coming, so he stopped thinking of the negatives and finished the lunch with his mate by his side.

Rolus talked the whole time, recalling the past three years. The best part of it all was that Luke listened attentively. He ate up every word Rolus said.

As much as he was on the clouds with the development of their relationship, there were still some things to address. The time before Luke lost his memories, they skirted around the issue of their Packs, whether to merge or stay in their respective Packs. Luke refused the merger, but maybe this time around, he would agree.

Rolus felt like he was taking advantage because he knew the last time Luke refused, but maybe he would agree this time. He didn't know if he should tell Luke that he refused the merger when he was of sound mind. He was still of sound mind, but it was not the same.

Rolus was a bit distracted with his thoughts that he didn't notice that he had stopped talking halfway through telling Luke some of the memories they made together.

He only noticed when Luke nudged him.

"Yeah, sorry. Just had a thought," Rolus chuckled, but it came out nervous. To be honest, he was not ready to have this talk with Luke.

"What's the thought about?" Luke asked, eyes so ever mesmerizing. Rolus didn't have the will to lie when he was looking at him like that.

"About our Packs. Do we merge or retain both our Packs?" He was nervous. "Last time you refused the merger."

Luke didn't reply for a while. Rolus was dying with anticipation.

"What do you want to happen?" Luke finally asked, still looking at Rolus.

For a moment, with their close proximity, Rolus wondered what would happen should he kiss Luke. Would he allow it? His eyes went to Luke's lips. He was distracted, really.

"I think... umm. H-how about a merger?" Rolus stumbled through the sentence, transfixed on Luke's lips.

"You think it's a good idea?"

Rolus nodded. It was a struggle to raise his eyes to Luke's, but he did it.

"Will your Pack agree?" Luke asked, worry etched on his face.

This time around, he didn't care. He was going to put his mate first. An Alpha without a mate was a husk. This time, his mate came first. What's good a Pack with a brokenhearted Alpha? "They'll agree."

"Then let's merge."

The happiness that coursed through Rolus had him leaning forward and capturing his mate's lips. To hell with consequences.
