“This is absolutely maddening!” Axel shouted, his frustration boiling over as he slammed his fist against a nearby wall leaving a dent, the impact reverberating through the air. “We cannot allow her to escape like this!”
Ragely placed a steadying hand on Axel’s shoulder, his demeanor calm despite the rising tension. “We will not give up. We will uncover her whereabouts, no matter the challenges we face.”
However, as the sun began its slow descent, casting long, ominous shadows across the cityscape, they were left with the disheartening realization that they had made no significant progress in locating Nova. It felt as though she had seamlessly slipped into the darkness, leaving behind only a faint whisper of her presence.
“We’ll regroup and devise a new strategy tomorrow,” Ragely suggested, his voice imbued with a sense of determination and purpose.
Axel nodded firmly, his eyes burning with an unwavering resolve. “We will not rest until we have her firmly in our sights.”
As they separated to go their own ways, a nagging sensation crept into Ragely’s mind—the eerie feeling that Nova was observing them from the shadows, her sharp gaze lurking just out of their sight, patiently biding her time for the perfect opportunity to strike.
