driving through the irish countryside was rather peaceful; watching the rolling hills, listening to gracie abrams (ally's request), talking about utter nonsense. it surely helped ease ally's nerves.

"we have about twenty minutes to go," niall said, squeezing ally's thigh as he drove.

taking a deep breath, ally replied as steady as possible, yet niall could still hear the nerves lacing her words.

"you will be okay i promise, there is nothing to be scared of," he spoke, reassuring her.

"i know that but i can't help it," ally said, refusing to look at niall. "do they know about the whole fake dating whatever this is we have going on?"

"kind of, they know about the contract and stuff but i don't think they understand it and my mum probably knows there is something going on with us," he explained, glancing over to her.

"okay," she replied, going back to singing i miss you, i'm sorry by gracie abrams.

"ally you have an amazing voice," niall complimented in awe causing ally to blush.

"thank you."

"you should sing more, you are so good," he praised, genuinely complimenting her.

"i'll leave the singing for you, i'll stick with acting."

soon enough, they were pulling up to niall's mothers home, maura waiting impatiently to meet her sons 'girlfriend'.

"oh niall, you're home! i've missed you," maura said, pulling niall into a hug the second he stepped out of the car.

letting them have a moment, ally stayed out of the way. well, until maura introduced herself, pulling ally into a hug. "you must be ally, i'm maura, niall's mum, i've heard so much about you."

"it's lovely to meet you," ally replied, a huge smile forming on her face at the comfort of a mothers hug.

"come on in, niall get the bags," she demanded, leading ally into the house, leaving niall to carry their bags in.

by the time he got in, ally and his mum were already sitting with a cup of tea and biscuits, nattering on about anything and everything.

"what's going on in here?" he questioned. seeing how instantly comfortable ally was with his mum filled him with joy.

"just chatting shit about you," maura replied, causing ally to giggle behind her mug.

"well that's not nice."

"it's true though," ally agreed, still laughing slightly at niall's face.

"right i'm leaving you both, im heartbroken," niall dramatically announced, causing his mum to roll her eyes.

"niall stop being dramatic."

later on in the night, niall decided to take ally for a walk around the town, showing her every interesting spot: where he went to school, the pub he used to get drunk in, the places he used to go as a kid.
