2nd may 2023:

the days after ally's birthday turned to months, each moment becoming a fleeting memory. niall and ally moved in together not long after her birthday, niall's home becoming their home.

luke's birthday had been and gone, the week after that becoming hazy as ally remembered the events that took place just ten years ago.

eighteen year old luke got granted sole custody of his younger sisters exactly ten years to the day, something they all should celebrate but they couldn't help but look back in anger.

their childhoods tainted by the putrid poison of abuse; their lives planned out before them, no choice in the matter.

lisa and mark hayes were not nice people. never have been, never will be.

years of physical, emotional abuse put on their children; parents should love and nurture their children not force them to work tirelessly for hours every single day and steal their rewards.

hundreds of thousands of pounds over sixteen years got spent, luke, ally or quinn never seeing what their success got them. only the tragic truth of addiction and greed.

one more pay check, another bottle of alcohol, countless punches.

the three were helpless, neither of them had anyone to turn to but eachother. they were too scared to tell those they were close with, including ally's on screen father, robert. instead they suffered in silence, cowering in hidden corners of their rooms trying to stay hidden.

luke did try his hardest to shelter the girls but he could only do so much.

since ally was making the most money, she suffered the most pain. their parents said it was "a fair trade" so ally never questioned it.

they managed to get out of the living hell, losing the rest of their family in the process. atleast they had eachother.

well, until ally got a boyfriend.

three years of peace, free from the relentless abuse from her parents, ally thought she would never go through something like that again.

then tom happened.

he was sweet at first, always loving, always caring. but ally saw how quickly that smile began to look like a smirk.

for years, tom forced ally into doing things she didn't want to do, she didn't know how to say no.

a naïve eighteen year old girl became terrified at her boyfriends very existence. she didn't know what he was capable of.

only a few people knew about their relationship, their families, marvel co-stars and their best friends. not a single person knew what went on behind closed doors; they were just two actors, one terrified of the other.

for a whole year ally didn't talk to her siblings, tom forcing her to stay away from those who meant the most to her.

eventually ally got out of that six year relationship, her brother finally figuring out what was going on.

turns out tom was cheating on her the whole time with their marvel co-star, them both using ally as a way to make it in the industry.

ally did know any of this however, she just thought tom got with zendaya after they broke up. luke decided to keep that from her, to keep her safe.

safe to say ally didn't have the best twenty four years, but niall did come into her life and made their time together the best shes ever had.

filled with love, fun, trust and patience, niall was ally's safe space, her home. she loved him more than she has loved anyone before and she was thankful for that.

so, on this anniversary, one she was too afraid to celebrate, niall planned for ally, luke and quinn to spend some time together, doing things they missed out on as children.

and that began with a harry potter movie marathon.

half way through the prisoner of azkaban, the shrill shrieking of the doorbell pierced the house, ally being closest got up to answer it.

when she opened the door, the last thing she was expecting was the oh so familiar faces of her parents.

"hi darling," lisa said menacingly.

"ally who is it?" luke called out, walking up behind  her as she stood frozen in shock.

the second he saw their faces all he saw was red. "what are you doing here?" he shouted, "you aren't allowed here, it's against the law."

hearing the commotion, quinn became curious, making her way to the door. before she could reach it, luke asked niall to take her upstairs, ally had already saw them but he could still protect quinn.

"oh quinn's here, good, we have so much to talk about," their mother said looking into ally and niall's home.

"what are you doing here?" luke asked again, this time pushing ally behind him.

"have you checked the date? ten years is up, lucas," replied mark sickeningly.

that's when he realised the restraining order was up, there was nothing he could do.
