all her life quinn was viewed as the baby who needed protecting. whether it was from her parents or simply the dangers of the world, luke and ally always protected her.
oh how she hated that.
but for once, she was glad she was the baby. lying on her sister bed cuddled up with penny watching friends, quinn was grateful she wasn't a part of the chaos occurring downstairs.
she wasn't alone. niall was sat beside her, scrolling through tiktok, occasionally showing her a funny video or two.
being almost twenty, quinn finally understood why luke and ally hid her away, much like they are doing now.
she could still hear the calamity occurring; her brothers hoarse voice shouting at their parents, her parents terror-inducing screams, but nothing from her sister.
ally was eerily quiet.
well, until the sound of breaking glass and ally's scream pierced the air.
immediately, niall and quinn jumped up, racing downstairs only to find ally cowered into a corner, blood dripping down the side of her head and tears streaming down her face.
niall quickly went into action, hugging ally whispering sweet nothings in her ear.
quinn just stood there in shock.
"if it isn't little quinny, finally came out of hiding, huh?" her mother taunted, causing quinn to jump in shock.
she finally got to look at her mother after ten short years; she got to see where she got her eyes from, her hair, her everything. quinn was lisa's twin and she has just noticed.
sure quinn could remember what her parents looked like, but she rarely thought of it.
whenever someone complimented her eyes, she would always say she got them from her sister never her mother. she would much rather have ally's eyes than anyone else's.
over the years, she kept telling herself that, but now as she was standing face to face with the woman who gave her life, she couldn't help but remember all the madness she has seen swirling in those very eyes. the same ones she has.
"don't talk to her," ally practically whispered, then telling niall to go help quinn get away from their mother instead of helping her.
reluctant to leave ally, niall tried to get quinn somewhere safe but mark was quick to drag her away and give niall a forceful punch to the face.
as the scene played on, ally's vision became more and more blurred with each passing second.
luke was quick to notice her hazy state and rushed next to her trying to help, making sure she stayed awake.
as he was making sure she was okay, ally whispered something inaudible but her eyes looked panicked.
unbeknownst to everyone, luke had called emergency services as soon as niall and quinn rushed down, he quickly explained the situation and put his phone in his pocket, still connected.
the operator on the other side could hear every single word, scream and shout happening, making them rush over to the house as fast as they could.
to ally, everything felt slow. her head felt sore, her eyes shutting slowly, her mothers manic face forever burned into her mind just before she smashed the lamp over her own daughters head.
the last thing she remembered was niall cradling her in his arms as police stormed into their home.
as she looked up at him, her sullen eyes began to fill with tears, niall's too, almost as if they could read each others minds, both of them worried about the same thing.
and then black.

marvel actress, alora hayes has been rushed into hospital apparently due to severe head trauma.
witnesses have told us that they saw a man and a woman entering ally's london home despite some reluctance from those inside, said to be her brother and sister, luke and quinn, and also niall horan, the actresses own boyfriend.
many shouts and screams were heard from the property until police and paramedics arrived, arresting the man and woman, said to be the hayes siblings own parents, and taking alora to hospital.
