a few months had passed since the premiere and it was almost allys due date.

the last month or so had been extremely hard for the couple; niall in particular.

while he was in argentina on tour, he had met up with one of his best friends and former band mate, liam. he thought they had years of this ahead of them to catch up and possibly have a reunion with all five members, little did he know the next time he saw liam, and the other three members, one wouldn't be there.

october sixteenth was a normal day like no other, ally and niall preparing for the upcoming arrival of their baby but at ten pm, niall got a life changing phone call, shattering his heart in the process.

at first, he was in denial; there was no way liam was dead. he was perfectly fine a few days before and then he was simply gone.

just as he was processing the information, ally came in asking if he had found what he was looking for.

when she found him kneeling on the floor, staring distantly into nothing, she knew something was wrong.

the second he saw her, tears began to stream endlessly. unable to catch his breath, he just clung to ally.

she didnt ask what was wrong, she just whispered sweet nothings, reassuring him everything would be okay, holding him as close as possible with her eight month pregnant belly.

as he began to calm down, he tried telling ally what had happened but his words came out strained.

thankfully, she understood what he was saying so he didnt need to repeat the news again.

that night, and for a few weeks after, niall and ally spent their time grieving the loss of their dear friend and brother, but also focusing on their baby to take their mind off of the news.

november twentieth was a tough day for all.

in the past month, niall had met up with his former band mates all in one room since his birthday a few months prior; well, except one. it felt strange not having liam there, it was sad how the loss of one brought the other four together once again.

at this point, ally was due in ten days, so niall was hesitant to let her come to the funeral but she insisted on being there, not only for niall, but because she knows she will regret not seeing one of her best friends one last time.

it was a heartbreaking, sombre day. tears were shed, stories were told, all while bear clung to ally.

no one particularly knows why he did this, but ally didnt complain. she had no idea what it was like to lose a parent, especially at such a young age, so she tried her hardest to help him out as much as possible.

as the day came to a close, bear was fast asleep against ally and ally herself was drifting off on nialls shoulder as he conversed with zayn.

gently, niall picked the boy up and took him to his mother, then softly woke ally up suggesting they went back home to penny and get some rest after a tiresome day.

goodbye is bittersweet; it is not the end- they will see each other again.

the hum of the wind played a melodic tune that day; almost as liam was performing one last time.

but from now, he could be found walking in the wind.
