Chapter 5: Retrofitted Realities

Royal Garden, Azur Lane

Tribunal is working at the garden while she is happy humming until she notice a couple of kansens she knows, but notice the different of their appearance as if they got stronger or something which is strange because she knows them and all the sudden they got stronger for example she notice Yamashiro and her older sister Fusou can summon planes despite been battleship. Tribunal continue to see girls upgrade from their standard so she question Belfast who is cutting the long weeds from the garden.

Tribunal: "Lady Belfast; I notice some of the girls look different than normal."

Belfast: "Because they been retrofitted."

Tribunal(confuse): "Retrofitted?"

Belfast explain to Tribunal that the girls have an upgrade due to the blueprints and grant permission from the top brass to retrofit the girls to make them stronger. She wonders if she get a retrofit, but it probably be impossible because she is a starship and not from this world so it's going to be impossible which makes her sad, but she won't push too far. The two start to work on the garden until it was time for a break.

Belfast: "Time for some break Tribunal."

Tribunal and Belfast sit on the table while Belfast is pouring tea for both of them while at the same time Tribunal start to see other retrofit candidate kansens which Belfast notice it and question rather or not she let Tribunal to learn more about retrofit.

Belfast: "If you want than we can speak with Akashi who is in charge of the retrofit."

This spark Tribunal's interest and they left to where Akashi is working at her workshop in the market area. If possible that Tribunal get a retrofit just like the others, but that possible is slim chance.

Akashi's Workshop, Azur Lane

Tribunal and Belfast arrive at Akashi's workshop where Akashi is talking with the higher ups for more blueprints which is battleship until Akashi notice the two enter her shop.

Akashi: "Welcome nya. What can I do you for?"

Belfast: "Tribunal want to see how retrofit works."

Akashi: "A student nya? Very well than; I need to wait for the blueprints for her majesty."

Akashi teach Tribunal that there are kansens are allow to have retrofit while some can't. Tribunal also learn that retrofit is useful for battleship kansens because they get their own airplane while some kansens become more powerful with new weapons. For example Ise a Sakuran battleship can be retrofit with a aircraft while destroyer types can more weapons install. Tribunal wonder if she can get retrofit like the others which Akashi doesn't know because Tribunal is a starship than a military sea ship, but Akashi likes the challenge.

Akashi: "I don't know we can help, but we can find a way. I make sure that you be first in line for the retrofit."

Akashi went through the leftover blueprints that she still got her hands on while thinking something suitable for Tribunal, but she have doubts that it will work; however giving up isn't in her category and decide to try two blueprint types that is suitable which is battleship and carrier blueprints which Tribunal is watching the scene.

Tribunal: Is it possible to use a mixture of both?"

Akashi is thinking about that and decide to go with it.

Akashi: "Let's try it. Belfast; I want you to leave the workshop for the time being until I call you."

Belfast understand and left the building while Akashi has a sparkle in her eyes while Tribunal is starting to worry about this.
