Chapter 20: Whispers in the Garden

Tribunal POV

It was about couple of days and we just finish our wedding including having the events that was setup by Amagi, but she have to scold Akagi for causing problems at the meeting the other day which I remember because we can hear shouting inside the Command Center because the Commander isn't around the base and the girls are asking where he is. I bet the Queen didn't say anything and want to keep this a secret, but from the information I got from the meeting which is everyone was responsible for the Commander's fatigue, but right now I want to spend time with my husband who just finish unpacking things. We're relaxing in the garden which we can hear bamboo shoot hitting the rock with water.

Gettysburg: "Everything is unpack and our bedroom is done."

Tribunal: "I just finish unloading the supplies to the kitchen and move some to the storage room."

Good thing we left early before Mother decide to stop us because she was crying the entire time and want to prevent me from leaving, but sooner or later that a baby bird have to leave the nest and have a future with her mate. It was sad to leave my family behind, but I can visit them when I arrive back to the base. I have Gettysburg laying on my lap while I help clean his ears which I was learn from Atago; I don't how she know about this, but after talking with Takeo about this... I can see why she is the master of ear cleaning. It took about couple of minutes of ear cleaning that it was time for Gettysburg to return to help her sister Hornet with training while at the same time I decide to clean the place up and make sure that everything is put away neatly.

It was about 4 hours later that I have a visitor which is Belfast along with couple of maids with wedding gifts that they brought back from the wedding site. We didn't have a chance to move them because it was load of our stuff from our dorms and now everything is back.

Tribunal: "Thank you Belfast and girls for helping us."

Belfast: "Don't mention it Tribunal; we're happy to help you since today was your big day... Where's Gettysburg?"

Tribunal: "He went to help his sister Hornet with training."

Belfast and I start to put the gifts in the living room while the other maids explore the house which they are shock that it was this big, but of course this was under construction in secret by Amagi. I still see her face that she complete something with her life and now I want to treasure it. I can see the maids on the other side of the garden while I was talking with Belfast about the meeting the other day.

Tribunal: "So what happen at the meeting? I can hear shouting at the Command Center."

Belfast: "They question about the location of Master's whereabouts, but her majesty was able to change the subject and promise them that he will return."

Tribunal: "I still feel like we should told them about it because it's starting to effect morale in the base."

Belfast: "I agree, but as long the Queen's orders is absolute than we have no choice to follow it."

I don't know why we keep holding that secret from the rest of the base, but the Queen is the flagship of the fleet so we have no choice but to follow her orders even though I don't like it. I trust her judgment for the time being.

Belfast: "I also learn that her majesty wasn't the only one that cause problems for Master."

Belfast inform me that the flagships give the Commander hard time including Akagi which probably a reason why Amagi was angry at her and why the Commander is exhausted. The maids return from exploring the house and the two of them left while Belfast give me a letter that contains information about my new work hours.

It was about couple of hours and Amagi arrive with some food for the both of us, but didn't bring Mother and Akagi because Akagi got into trouble by Jean Bart which result of fighting, but was stop by Amagi and the other older generation kansens. Amagi grounded Akagi for causing problems and order Mother to keep an eye on her until she calm down for the day or at least she comes back from visiting me.

Amagi: "Today is chaos with Akagi."

Tribunal: "Probably after what happen at the meeting."

Amagi: "No wonder that Commander is taking a vacation."

Tribunal: "You know something is up?"

Amagi: "Tribunal; you should know that I'm good at guessing and I know that Commander isn't on a secret mission, but taking a vacation from the base."

Vacation isn't the word I would be using, but it's better that way and she is right. We enjoy the snacks while resting on the bench underneath the umbrella while looking at the garden. I thank Amagi to fund for this construction and promise to cover the debt.

Tribunal: "Thank you for everything including Mother. One day; I will pay you back."

Amagi: "Don't need to; we're family after all and I'm looking forward to see your children when the time comes."

I blush after she say that and eat a bunch of ice cream in full which cause my brain to freeze up which Amagi giggle while eating a apple. Today is the best day of my life and fully be when Mother comes back from babysitting Akagi.
