Chapter 23: Beneath the Surface: The Weight of Expectation

Tribunal POV

It's about a month since the last chapter of my story and I can see that my stomach is showing some weight which I'm about to worry about my appearance, but Vestal did say that is because the baby is growing so it is unavoidable and of course the aftermath will be checked. I'm on stand-by until our new visitor arrive which is the sister of Queen Elizabeth and Warspite which is Lady Valiant. I was assign under her wing since she is new to the fleet. I can see Valiant arrive after she exit the Secretary office with her powerful aura that is similar to the Queen herself, but a newbie.

Valiant; "You must be Tribunal the daughter of that fox girl named Kaga. You two don't look alike with your ships and your hair, but I can see almost similar to each other."

Tribunal(bow): "Thank you for the compliment."

Valiant: "You better take care of yourself; you almost look fat."

I almost snap at her of calling me fat.. I'm sorry that my child is making me look fat, but I can't lose my job because of her stupid quotes, but looks like Belfast came to save the day for her.

Belfast: "It's rude to call her fat your Majesty. She is pregnant."

There was a moment of silent until reality click in and Lady Valiant is freaking out because of what she just say to me. She apologize to me that she didn't know that I was pregnant and do anything in her power to make me better, but as long she understood that she made a mistake than I let it slide because she is the sister of the flagship. We head outside to start our day.

Royal Navy Dorm, Azur Lane
Tribunal POV

I make the table along with tea and snacks for Lady Valiant because today is the day that I'm going to be transfer to become Valiant since she doesn't have any maids that was select to her fleet which makes her sad, but I'm happy that I become a head maid for another fleet. I talk with Belfast about this.

Tribunal: "Why transfer me to Valiant's fleet?"

Belfast: "Because I think you're ready to become a head maid. I witness your action ever since you join Azur Lane and you able to reach my status and Valiant doesn't have any maids under her command so I decide to have you as head maid. You're par with me."

I start to cry of happiness and thank her for this golden opportunity which she smile. I make sure that I won't fail her. I notice Valiant is waiting for the snacks so I stand up and offer her some snacks. After I offer her some snacks before heading back to my seat and waiting for my next orders after Belfast left to rejoin Queen Elizabeth's side. There was a moment of silence until Lady Valiant start speaking.

Valiant: "You can sit with me and enjoy this meal."

I accept the offer because it was an order form Valiant, but she keep staring at my belly that is barely sticking out, but show the sign of growth.

Valiant: "Who's the father?"

Tribunal: "USS Gettysburg."

Valiant: "Yorktown's little brother. I know Nijmegen is dating Bismarck, but I didn't expect that wolf boy found love. I thought he would to be busy with following Enterprise that he didn't have time for romance."

Tribunal: "Maybe he is not someone to be underestimated."

Valiant agree with my statement and we continue enjoy our meal until I pour some drinks for Lady Valiant which makes her happy, but her expression change when she notice Queen Elizabeth at the port doing inspection. I can see Valiant getting angry.

Valiant: "I can't believe my older sister is the flagship of a fleet despite of her attitude toward others."

Tribunal: "You don't like your sisters?"

Valiant: "More like jealous; I have to stay at England with a production ships while Elizabeth commands the entire fleet of kansens. No wonder she is the Queen of the Royal Navy and not me. Even I was lower than Warspite."

I can sense a rivalry between her and the Queen which almost look familiar to me and other starship, but we're more enemies than rivals; his name is Purgatory a CIS Providence-Class Dreadnought... I wonder if he is still alive after I left this world. Last time I saw him was the Battle of Kessel where the CIS is conducting a experimental weapon which I join forces with another Venator named Crimson Blossom of the Sakura Division.

I stand up and bow before Lady Valiant which she is confuse.

Tribunal: "As the head maid of Valiant Fleet; I pledge my loyalty service to Lady Valiant and her orders of the Royal Navy. I make sure that Valiant will be equal or over power against Queen Elizabeth."

Valiant is about to cry with happy thoughts and stand on the table with a smirk on her face.

Valiant: "That's right; I'm will overcome Queen Elizabeth and become the true leader of the Royal Navy. Follow me Tribunal and let's become the best duo in the world and surpass the Queen."

We finish cleaning up the mess that Valiant made during her speech and continue working with her.

Royal Garden, Azur Lane
Tribunal POV

Me and Valiant are walking through the garden until we bump into Queen Elizabeth and we can see sparks coming out of their eyes like rivals and I notice Belfast with a smile on her face.

Belfast: "Looks like we're going have this challenge."

Tribunal: "Let's see who is a better head maid."

We both shake our hand and we went our separate ways.
