❟❛❟ CHAPTER THIRTEEN ❟❛❟

"Isn't it time to stop, Bakugou?"

Todoroki stormed into Bakugou's room, his eyes narrowed in frustration. The door slammed against the wall with a thud, echoing through the small space. The room owner who was sprawled out on the carpet with a book in hand, snapped his head up, his gaze instantly hardening into a fierce glare. Without missing a beat, he grabbed the nearest pillow and hurled it at Todoroki with a growl. "You ever heard of knocking? Try it next time, and maybe I'll decide if you're worth letting in!"

The taller boy didn't bother with a response, effortlessly catching the pillow Bakugou had thrown. He closed the door with a quiet click before dropping down beside Bakugou. "Answer my question, Bakugou," he demanded, his voice edged with impatience.

"No," Bakugou grunted, picking up the small pillow and placing it on his stomach as if it were a shield. "How many times have I told you?"

"But I can't stand it anymore."

"Didn't you realize it, Todoroki?" Bakugou sighed, locking eyes with him, his tone suddenly serious. "She knew we were her soulmates before we even figured it out ourselves. She avoided using her quirk around us on purpose. And after everything was revealed, she kept her distance. Isn't that obvious enough for you, icyhot?"

Todoroki remained silent, the weight of Bakugou's words settling heavily on him. They had gone over this before, agreeing—though it was more Bakugou's idea—to give Akame space, to approach her slowly so she wouldn't feel pressured.

But patience had never been his strong suit.

"Akame is just like you used to be, whether you want to admit it or not. She's pushing back against the idea of soulmates," Bakugou scoffed, turning back to his book as if the conversation was already over. "Now, get out. You're interrupting my study time!"

Reluctantly, Todoroki walked out of Bakugou's room. He knew he wouldn't be able to change the boy's mind that easily. With a sigh, he headed back to the lift.

"Todoroki?"

The sound of his name pulled him from his thoughts. He turned to see the tall masked teen standing beside him, waiting for the lift as well. "Shoji?" Todoroki greeted, slightly surprised.

"What are you doing on this floor?" Shoji asked curiously.

"Just having a chat with Bakugou," Todoroki replied, stepping into the lift as the doors slid open.

"Hmm, you guys have gotten closer since those supplementary classes," Shoji commented, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"Yeah," Todoroki allowed a small smile to tug at the corner of his lips. As they rode down together, he glanced at Shoji, noticing his tracksuit. "Where are you headed?"
