❟❛❟ CHAPTER THIRTY SIX ❟❛❟

SHIVERS CREPT DOWN THEIR SPINES as a cold, mocking laugh echoed through the darkened forest. This was the girl they'd been sent to capture—the same girl who had driven the doctor into a frenzy after he'd watched her brutal clash with Obutsu. That footage had shown not just her strength but something darker, a ferocity that made the doctor desperate to have her. If persuasion wouldn't work, then he'd settle for force.

The mission was supposed to be simple. She was alone, isolated from other heroes. With six of them surrounding her, it should have been a straightforward ambush.

But.

The girl's crimson eyes glowed like embers in the dim light, piercing through the trees as if she could see through flesh and bone, strip them bare, and reduce them to ashes with a single look.

A smirk played at her lips as she raised her hand, and with a mere flick of her fingers, flames as dark as night erupted from the ground, encircling them. The fire roared to life, licking up the trees, scorching the earth beneath their feet, forcing them back in a frantic scramble. The heat was suffocating, the shadows of the flames danced ominously across her face, casting her in an otherworldly glow.

"Well, now I'll be able to move more freely," she murmured, her sword vanishing into thin air, leaving her hand empty—except for a small, smooth river rock.

She played with the stone, tossing it up a few times as she watched the villains in front of her. They remained still, tense, eyes flickering between each other, none daring to make the first move.

Whoosh!

The stone shot forward, moving like a blur. Dabi barely moved fast enough to yank Toga out of its path, the rock whizzing past her with a force that could have left a nasty impact.

Then another stone.

And another.

And another.

The air crackled as each projectile tore through, scattering the villains, and forcing them to dodge again and again. Each stone hit with unnerving accuracy and power, as if Akame was merely toying with them.

In the blink of an eye, she vanished from her spot, reappearing right in front of Mr. Compress. Her fist collided with his chest with a brutal, bone-jarring force, sending him crashing to the ground with a thunderous impact.

She didn't pause. Her movements grew faster, her strikes heavier, each one more unpredictable and relentless than the last.

"You talk about tearing down the world's order," she said, voice as icy as her gaze, "yet here you are, unable to take down a single person. Do you even understand what true destruction means?"
