❟❛❟ CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE  ❟❛❟

AKAME WALKED ALONE THROUGH THE SILENT FOREST. She tilted her head up, her gaze fixed coldly on the full moon that bathed the treetops in a silver glow. Standing still, she allowed the quiet and the vastness of the night to settle her restless mind.

Her fingers traced the smooth contours of a small river stone she'd picked up along the way. She tossed it gently from hand to hand, feeling its weight, her gaze drifting down to the river beside her, its waters gliding silently over polished rocks.

With a flick of her wrist, she sent the stone skimming across the surface, watching it skip and ripple the stillness. She picked up another and threw it, again and again, her movements rhythmic, until, at last, she simply held nothing.

"Come out."

Her sharp eyes stared ahead, having detected their presence long before their footsteps were heard. Shadows began to emerge from behind the trees, surrounding Akame in an eerie silence. She recognized the faces. The members of the League of Villains, whom she had seen during Bakugou's rescue, now stood before her.

"Surrounding me alone, you guys must be planning something," she said casually.

A man with silver hair covered in strange hands on his body stepped forward. The movement of his dry fingers made an uncomfortable sound, while his languid posture gave the impression of someone who had no stance despite being their leader. "Sensei asked me to bring you. You would be a good fit for us," he said in a hoarse voice. "We want you to join the League of Villains."

Akame just stared at him. The Hero Commission had warned her earlier that the League of Villains might be looking for her. It turned out to be true.

Akame was unfazed, her face remaining cold and unreadable. "What is your real goal?"

Shigaraki paused for a moment as everyone stared at him. He stared intently through the gaps in his hands. "Our goal... is to assert dominance by overthrowing the Pro Heroes' society. To rid the world of heroes to create a new world order," he said with both hands outstretched. His words were filled with vengeance, anger flowing from every word.

Akame stared at him for a long moment, then chuckled. She stepped forward, causing the League to close ranks, ready for what she might do. "That," she said mockingly, "is the worst goal I've ever heard."

Hearing the League of Villains' goals so raw and haphazard, every angry word that Shigaraki uttered only made her want to laugh. How could they possibly think that such ambition could bring about real change?
