Vaidehi Sharma's POV:I wake up late in the morning, as it was Sunday. I saw the clock; it was 11 am. Then, I opened my phone and saw a text from Aarohi.
Aarohi: You bitch, what are you doing, huh?
Jisdin se tera uss lappu se engagement hua hai tu toh meri existence bhul gyi!
(Since the day you got engaged to that idiot, you've forgotten my existence!)Aarohi: Don't reply. You aren't even seeing my messages.
She literally dropped these texts at 1 am and literally expected me to reply at midnight, but i was sleeping.
Now I texted her back
Me: Meri maa, tereko nhi bhuli (Oh my mom, I didn't forget you).
I have too much stress, behen (sister). I want to share those things... Chal na, aaj meet karte hai (Let's meet today). At Mumbai centre mall
Vaidehi and I were sitting at KFC, surrounded by the enticing aroma of fried chicken.
She was looking at me with concern, asking for like the 69th time, "Bro, why do you look so sad? I've been asking you the same question for an hour now. Can't you trust me?" She said this while holding my hand, her touch warm and reassuring.I appreciated her persistence, but I wasn't sure how to open up. Vaidehi's eyes sparkled with kindness, and her gentle grip on my hand encouraged me to share my thoughts. I took a deep breath, trying to gather my emotions.
Vaidehi leaned in, her voice soft and gentle. "Come on, bro, tell me what's wrong. Is it Aayansh? Your engagement? You can tell me anything."
"I do trust you, but I don't know how to explain everything...." I replied, looking to the side and taking deep breaths.
"Vaidu, calm down, I'm always with you, right? Why are you overthinking then? Just tell me normally, not in detail," she said, rubbing my hand slowly and giving me a huge amount of comfort."Actually... You know about Aayansh's late first wife, right?" I asked her.
She replied with a nod. "He still loves her; he thinks I'm trying to take her place in his life," I continued, looking down.
"Why would I do that? She was a different person, and I'm also... why would I want to copy her?""Vaidu, give Aayansh some time because he is still in love with his late wife, and you just suddenly came into his life. Now you're engaged to him, and he needs time to process, right?" She said, giving me a light squeeze on the hand.
"Right! I know he needs time, but I just feel sad sometimes. Thank you, Aaro."
I hugged her tightly. "You're literally my soul sister I love you, yaar."
She rubbed my back. "Haa, abb mein itna bhi khas nahi hoon," she said dramatically, just like Shinchan
("I'm not that special")But I was a little emotional at the time, so I said, "I needed this hug."
Tears dropped from my eyes as she kept wiping them and rubbing my back. She wasn't saying anything I know she doesn't know how to express feelings but her actions speaks louder than words.
I felt peaceful by hugging her.
