SIR REGINALD HARGREEVES spectated from above as the Umbrella Academy dispersed from the Obsidian Memorial Park. His wife, Abigail -- who was, once again, alive and well -- followed suit and stood by him, holding his hand after being apart for so long.

Seeing the Umbrellas part ways one by one made Reginald sigh. It was a new timeline and he was very aware of it. He's also aware that this was his last opportunity to keep the world from what was starting to appear as the undying apocalypse.

"What do we do with her?"

His train of thought came to a stop after Abigail pointed out the girl who's laying on her side on their chaise lounge, unconscious as if she was merely sleeping soundly. All her bloody injuries as well as her dark veins vanished like nothing happened at all. Reginald already knew where she could go from here. They didn't plan on letting her stay in their own abode after all.

"We send her home, of course."

Abigail tilted her head and looked at him with reluctance. Letting the girl live on her own was not sitting right with her at all. "Alone?" Abigail questioned, "Did you not say--"

"The chances of them meeting again is far from being slim to none, my love." Reginald already knew what she was about to say before she could do so. "Not in this small world, regardless of which timeline." He said as he turned to her, taking both of her hands into his own.

"Except from this moment on, we must let fate do its job."

3 days later

Y/N frantically sat up from her bed as memories of Reginald's Oblivion crept its way in her sleep. It was only a matter of time before she realized that she was still alive. She looked at her hands and touched her face that didn't feel like her own skin amidst her moment of panic, inspecting for any remnants of her frenzied state that was apparently washed away.

"I'm alive." She thought out loud. The girl would've been ecstatic about it, if it weren't for the fact that her mind was awfully quiet -- not a single thought was echoing in her head apart from her own.

Her eyes then landed on her right wrist, where the Umbrella Academy symbol was inked on, only to find that specific spot bare. She also took this as an opportunity to make herself invisible, but not even a flicker was evident.

Still bewildered of the sudden loss of her powers, Y/N also attempted to lift the lamp on the nightstand with her mind. Alas, she couldn't fool herself long enough to deny that endeavoring this made her look constipated. Well, shit.

Her attention was torn from her powers after recognizing her old bed and the bricked wall behind it. It was only a matter of time before she realized that she was at her old apartment she lived in before the first version of Sir Reginald Hargreeves died.

So what does this mean? Her mind began to overflow with questions, which made her get out of bed and make her way out of her bedroom. The fact that everything in her apartment looked and felt the same made her panic even more.

Does this mean it was all just a dream?

That they weren't real?

Was Five not real?

"WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPE-- oh."

Y/N calmed down shortly after seeing herself in the mirror, finding out that her appearance remained the same as it was since Five's arrival in the first 2019. Had it not been real, she should've looked 30 again.

She let her breath out sharply in relief, overwhelmed by the sudden change of atmosphere not only from the outside, but also from within. Time travelling really does mess up your brain, huh? She thought as she chuckled to herself.

Eventually, Y/N managed to calm back down after shortly rubbing her face ferociously and looked around. The only difference between this and the other version of her apartment was that the one where she stood had cleaner and newer furniture, despite them being identical to the ones she owned before.

As her eyes landed on her kitchen counter, she found papers that declared her ownership of the place. "Apparently, this also became a condo unit." She muttered as she read the deed.

After she compiled them all back to a single file, Y/N then noticed an envelope with her name and address written on the back. She didn't have to wonder who sent it when she recognized the handwriting all too well.

The girl hastily opened the envelope to find one of Reginald's typewritten letters. As disgruntled as she was with the old man, she remained desperate to find an explanation to everything she'd crossed ever since she woke up. And so, she read it.

To Ms. Y/N Hargreeves,

I hope this letter finds you well.

On the premises that you are reading this after you have gained back your consciousness, I assume that you are desperately looking for an explanation to your bewilderment with regards to these abrupt changes, despite what visions the other part within you had shown you that led everyone to where they are today.

It is with great pleasure that I, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, am to inform you that Project Oblivion was a complete success. The timeline was reset, consequently sending each of you to live as you please.

However, considering the unexpected circumstances that occurred during the last moments of the mission, there are consequences that have affected you and your family such as the loss of your extraordinary abilities; any trace of Sloane and the likes had simply vanished; and their memories of knowing you have been wiped clean.

Nevertheless, I remain grateful for your heroic efforts that gave protection to the rest of the team by defeating the majority of the guardians that fortified the Hotel Oblivion. I expect that this place, your original belongings including your personal vehicle, and the monetary benefaction will adequately compensate your extraordinary undertaking.

Mazel Tov.

Sincerely,
Sir Reginald Hargreeves

Y/N caught herself sitting on the floor as she read the whole thing. Her hands that held the letter dropped to her sides. She looked around the place that was apparently hers, taking it all in very slowly as everything felt hard to swallow.

But the biggest and the bitterest pill Y/N had to take was that from this moment on, she has no one. Not when she'd be no one to the people she knew and cared about.

She was, once again, alone.
