"I ALWAYS PUT a little something in there together with the coffee to accentuate the taste more. It tastes different every time, so I couldn't quite catch the right one." Y/N explained as she gave them each a cup of it. Vanya looked at her questioningly but took a sip anyways. And the taste shocked her.

"It's good.." She said as she drank more of it. Y/N put up a quick, tight-lipped smile and sat back down beside her, "Well, good for you."

Vanya hummed and looked back at Five, "How did you survive that time?" She asked.

"I survived on scraps." Five began. "Canned food, cockroaches, anything I can find." He chuckled, recalling his experience in the apocalypse, "You know that rumor that Twinkies have an endless shelf life? Well, it's total bullshit."

"I can't even imagine." Vanya muttered as she stared. Y/N, on the other hand, took her time to process things in her mind whilst listening to him.

"You do whatever it takes to survive, or you die." He continued, "So we adapted. Whatever the world threw at us, we found away to overcome it."

"We?"

Five and Y/N looked at their sister for a moment, until Five spoke up, "You got anything stronger?" Y/N then looked at him with a look that says 'Seriously? Alcohol?'.

Vanya sighed and went to the kitchen to grab a bottle of rum and glasses, "Y/N, you want some?" She asked. The girl refused, "I can't, I'm driving. You know how I can get carried away, sometimes.."

Her sister shrugged as she continued pouring some in a cup for Five who was waiting by the counter. He gladly took a swig and noticed Vanya looking at him strangely. He scoffed, "You think I'm crazy." He assumed.

Vanya started stammering, "No, It's just... It's a lot to take in." Y/N shrugged when she found out her sister was telling the truth by reading her mind. "Exactly what don't you understand?" Five hissed.

"Why didn't you just time travel back?" Vanya questioned. Once again, he scoffed, "Gee, wish I'd thought of that." He said it with sarcasm, "Time travel is a crapshoot. I went into the ice and it never acorn-ed." He explained.

"You think I didn't try everything to get back to my family?" He muttered to Vanya.

"If you grew old there, you know, in the apocalypse, how come you still look like a kid?" Vanya asked, motioning for his physical appearance.

"I told you already." He was beginning to get frustrated, "I must have got the equations wrong." He finished as he poured more rum into his cup.

Y/N was still there, contemplating whether she should leave or still stay, because she was practically just sitting there, listening to Vanya's questioning and Five answering it. She really didn't have many questions like her sister, but if she does, the answers would come up to her head eventually.

"I mean, Dad always used to say that.. time travel could mess up your mind. Maybe that's what's happening?" Vanya suggested.

"If that's what's happening, then Y/N shouldn't be physically 13 again." He pointed out.

Uncomfortable silence took over as no one talked. Well, it was awkward for Y/N at least. Even if she didn't use her ability to turn invisible to a man's eye, she still felt invisible. As you can see, the only people who were having a conversation was Vanya and Five. She was starting to wonder why she even came in the first place. After all, she was only a person who was a part of the academy who tried to fit in in a puzzle that she doesn't belong to, according to the last person who said that to her.

The silence ended when the boy sighed, "This was a mistake. You're too young.." He put down his glass and grabbed a rug on the counter that nobody ever noticed he put it on top of there.
