Waking up this early is new to Yoongi, thanks to his flexible working schedule. He usually wakes up at six in the afternoon and spends the whole day working and watching TV until he sleeps at four in the morning, just to wake up and repeat. So being awake at eleven in the morning was a first for him. It's been a while since he has seen the world at this hour.
But it's all fine. He's doing all of this for Jimin (sleep is very dear to him). He gets dressed, neatly brushes his mint hair and stares at the mirror for an extra seventeen minutes before finally heading to the door. Nothing can go wrong now.
"Dude!"
Yoongi turns around and is met by the sight of Namjoon running towards him with the biggest grin on his face, and his phone is his right hand. "You released a new song yesterday?! When did you even have time to work on it?! Everyone is talking about it! I checked the stats, and it's by far your most successful, fast growing single yet. Did you check your phone?!"Namjoon starts bombarding him with all types of questions, leaving him a bit dazed.
"I started working on the song yesterday. I didn't sleep until it was done and I was satisfied with it. No, I didn't check my phone yet. And- what else did you ask?"
"Never mind that! See? I told you it was just a writer's block. I knew you had it in you! Usually, I'd be angry with you for not telling me before releasing a new song, but this is an exception. The song is absolutely insane! I'm talking like, beyond underground rapper insane. Like, one million listens insane!" Namjoon can't seem to contain his excitement. And it's pretty obvious since he's jumping up and down.
For a second, Yoongi wonders, is this what it felt to be happy and proud of Jimin? Just like Yoongi got emotional about Jimin's success, Namjoon is feeling the exact same thing for Yoongi and has always felt it. Now Yoongi feels a little bad.
He also would have never imagined this song that he made not even seven hours ago would be his most successful one yet. Maybe Namjoon was right. Maybe his fans actually care about his true, genuine thoughts. For the longest time, he was afraid that his fans wouldn't like it if his song were too personal, so he stuck with just writing about his experiences. Finally, and for the first time ever, he feels proud of his own work.
"Nam,..."
The said boy stops jumping and looks at Yoongi, and there's silence for a few more seconds. "Awh, c'mon, don't tell me this was your disbandment song."
Yoongi doesn't answer and just watches Namjoon as he whines and complains. For some reason, this time Namjoon seems actually sad and not just angry. Does he really like Yoongi's work that much? Maybe Yoongi has looked over it too much. Namjoon just cares about him and his work, and he wants to value it's worth. Jimin to Yoongi is just like Yoongi to Namjoon. So, this is how it feels to be loved? Wait, why is Yoongi's eyes getting watery??
"Nam, it's not my disbandment song. Listen, I thought a lot about your words yesterday, and I finally understand what you mean. For the entity of my life, I've always wondered how it felt like to be valued and cared for. I thought I'd never get to experience that, because simply I thought it was asking for too much. I wondered if I'll ever find someone who will think of me just like how I think of... well, uhm, Jimin..." Yoongi takes a deep breath, waiting for Namjoon's reaction. But the latter doesn't talk and waits for Yoongi to finish what he has to say.
"I am good at my job, and thank you for reminding me of that, especially at my lowest times where I was doubting myself and my work. Without realising it, you were the reason all these albums were released and successful. Without you, I would've given up ages ago. So, I want to say thank you for sticking with me and believing in me when even I didn't believe in myself. A-and I also want to apologize for making your job and your life harder." Yoongi chuckles a little bit, looking away from Namjoon. "You're my best friend, Nam. I truly couldn't have asked for a better friend. And a roommate. And a manager, too. Damn, you're always all up in my business like that?" He playfully punches Namjoon's stomach, easing the mood as the both of them laugh.
"Yoongi, man, I saw your potential from the very beginning, and I wanted you to be the biggest star in the world, whether you liked it or not. And what can I say? If I put my mind to something, I'm not giving up until I reach it." Namjoon winks, nudging Yoongi. "I may come off as controlling or like I don't care about your mental health, but trust me, man, no one will love you like I do. Not even that twink guy,"
Yoongi laughs, pushing Namjoon away from him. "Seriously, Jimin's amazing."
"Whatever. What I want to say is, I seriously care about you, Yoongi. And I'm very proud of all your songs and your raps and literally everything you do. And I guess you're my best friend too. Just don't tell Jin and I won't tell Hoseok that you said I'm your favorite person ever,"
Yoongi rolls his eyes. "Don't flatter yourself, now. I didn't say that,"
"Does that mean you're going to keep doing music?" Namjoon asks expectantly. "As long as I'm stuck here with your ass, I have no other option," Yoongi sighs when Namjoon cheers. "I think writing about Jimin is what I'm good at. It's like he's the art, and I'm the artist. Or he's the poem, and I'm the poet,"
Namjoon now knows who "snooze" was written for. He sighs, knowing Yoongi would never let go of the past. "Go find your twink, Yoongi."

Yoongi's heart pounds in his chest as he stands outside the towering Samyoung Apartments. The building looms above him, an imposing structure that seems to mock his desperation. Six years-it's been six long years since he last saw Jimin, and every day of those years has felt like an eternity. Now, after all this time, he's finally here, at the place where Jimin supposedly lives. But as he stares up at the rows of identical windows and doorbells, doubt gnaws at him. What if he's wrong? What if Jimin isn't here? What if he's already rung the right doorbell and no one answered?
He takes a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. There's no turning back now. He's come too far to give up. His fingers tremble as he reaches out and presses the button for yet another doorbell. The sound of the chime echoes faintly through the building, and Yoongi's heart skips a beat. He waits, holding his breath, his mind racing with thoughts of what he'll say if Jimin answers. But as the seconds tick by with no response, his heart sinks. He must have gotten it wrong again.
Yoongi sighs, his shoulders slumping in defeat. He's been at this for what feels like hours, ringing doorbell after doorbell, hoping to find the one that will bring him face to face with the person he's been searching for all these years. His hope is starting to wane, but he forces himself to move on to the next one. The thought of seeing Jimin again, of finally getting the chance to say everything he's kept bottled up inside, is the only thing that keeps him going. He rings another doorbell, and this time, there's a sound of movement behind the door. Yoongi's heart races, his breath catching in his throat as he hears footsteps approaching. The door creaks open slowly, and disappointment washes over him as he makes eye contact with the owner of the house as he doesn't recognise him. Just then, Yoongi's eyes widen in shock as he starts to make out the features of who's standing on the other side.
It's Taehyung.
