Jimin didn't expect the principal to step in when he initiated the fight with Yoongi. Now, he can't help but feel a wave of embarrassment washing over him for causing Yoongi to get detention.

When one of the teachers caught sight of Yoongi and Jimin "fighting" the other day, she wasted no time in sending them straight to the principal's office. And just like that, they are handed detention for the next day.

Fast-forward to the present, and the two boys find themselves sitting in an empty classroom, boredom seeping into every corner of their minds.

Jimin isn't a monster, despite his actions. He truly feels terrible for getting Yoongi into trouble, especially considering Yoongi hasn't even fought back. Deep down, Jimin knows that Yoongi is innocent in all of this.

But still, there is a lingering hatred that Jimin can't quite comprehend. Why does he hate Yoongi? Is it because of his sense of humor, or maybe because of his flawlessly porcelain skin? Could it be that Yoongi's knowledge and passion for music make him a thousand times more captivating?

Jimin can't help but wonder, had he chosen to pursue music instead of dance, would he also be as attractive? Why does it have to be dance, and why would anyone enjoy watching people dance?

No, Jimin refuses to compare himself to Yoongi. Absolutely not!

Lost in his thoughts, Jimin's musings are abruptly interrupted by Yoongi's voice. "Take a picture. It lasts longer."

Once again, Jimin feels his cheeks grow warm with embarrassment. How many times is Yoongi going to make him blush and feel utterly ashamed?

Yoongi lets out a sigh. "I don't understand you," he says, drawing Jimin's attention back to him. "You're constantly angry, frowning, and throwing tantrums, but sometimes... sometimes you're like this," Yoongi gestures towards Jimin's current state.

Jimin's lips part as he lets out a breath. "Like this...?"

"Yeah," Yoongi nods, sitting up straighter. "Small and innocent, and just... something else." He catches himself before saying something that could be regrettable.

For a moment, they hold each other's gaze. Jimin feels himself shrinking, feeling weaker and more insecure with each passing second. He can't allow that to happen. He refuses to let Yoongi see his true self.

"What the fuck are you staring at?" The words come out with a force that feels out of place compared to Jimin's expression and tone. Yoongi knows it's forced, that Jimin doesn't mean to say those words.

There is something about how Jimin appears weak in front of him that Yoongi finds oddly enticing. He likes the effect he has on the younger boy.

"Get lost," Jimin mutters before he lays his head on the desk.

A small smile plays on Yoongi's lips as he makes a decision. He is determined to uncover more about Jimin, whether the latter likes it or not.

A while passes, and Yoongi's been casting sly glances at Jimin, who still has his head planted firmly on the desk. Who knew detention could be this boring? It's like watching paint dry, but worse.

With a hint of mischief in his eyes, Yoongi decides to approach Jimin. Deep down, he knows that Jimin is a soft guy - a teddy bear wrapped in a tough exterior. Despite his jerkish actions, Yoongi doesn't think Jimin deserves to witness his other side just yet. So, he's going to play nice, at least in front of Jimin.

Figuring a small talk might be a decent way to start, Yoongi casually leans towards Jimin and says, "So, what's that friend of yours called? You know, the one Jungkook can't stop blabbering about?" His voice oozes a nonchalant charm, as if he won't take any of Jimin's ghosting bullshit.

"I asked you a question," Yoongi adds firmly, changing his tone to catch Jimin off guard. Jimin shoots his head up, startled by the shift in Yoongi's demeanor. His eyes meet the older boy's dull expression, and for a moment, he swears there's a flicker of something different in Yoongi's gaze.

Jimin clears his throat, straightens up, and decides that if it's Yoongi who initiates the conversation, there's no harm in answering. Don't get him wrong - he still despises Yoongi with the burning rage of a thousand suns.

"Y-you mean Taehyung?" Jimin stammers, his voice betraying his momentary vulnerability.

"Ah, yes. Him," Yoongi hums in approval, keeping his cool demeanor intact.

Jimin fights the urge to question why on earth Yoongi gives a damn about Taehyung. Instead, he diverts his gaze to his suddenly fascinating lap, desperately trying to conceal any signs of interest.

Nonchalantly, Yoongi continues, "So, what's your favorite color?" He says it playfully, as if he's cracking a lame joke at a party.

Okay, seriously, what the actual fuck is up with Yoongi? Jimin raises an incredulous eyebrow, utterly perplexed by this sudden turn of events. Since when did Yoongi become the type of guy to ask about these mundane things?

Could it be that he's just bored out of his mind in this never-ending detention?

Jimin, not one to back down from a challenge, retorts, "Why do you care? Got nothing better to do in here?" The bratty Jimin mode is back, baby. He mentally pats himself on the back for saying it since confidently.

"We're stuck together for the entire school day, Jimin. Might as well try to get to know each other, right?" Yoongi shrugs, acting as if it's no big deal. As if Jimin hadn't been his number one hater just twenty-four hours ago.

Never in a million years would Jimin have thought that he'd hear the words "get-to-know-each-other" come out of Yoongi's mouth.

Reluctantly, Jimin contemplates whether to ignore Yoongi or engage with him. The latter option seems like playing with fire - a small, itty-bitty part of Jimin feels scared but also oddly intrigued.

"Uh, green?" Jimin responds cautiously, his voice tinged with skepticism.

Yoongi, unfazed by Jimin's sass, presses on, "Like, dark green, or light green?"

Suppressing a reluctant smile, Jimin admits, "No, more like minty green." No one has ever bothered to ask Jimin about his favorite color before, let alone his favorite shade of his favorite color. It's a small gesture, but it feels somewhat validating.

Yoongi can't help but notice the tiny smile that dances on Jimin's lips. He mentally makes a note, reminding himself to take this conversation further.

"Noted," Yoongi says with a ghost of a smile.

Detention just got a whole lot more interesting.
