22; "Swear"

Jimin's eyes snap up to meet Yoongi's, and Yoongi can see the storm brewing in them. Anger and hurt mix with something deeper, something raw and painful. Jimin's fists clench at his sides, his body trembling with barely restrained emotion.

"What do you know about what I'm going through, Yoongi?" Jimin's voice is sharp, each word like a dagger aimed at Yoongi's heart. "You don't understand anything."

Yoongi takes a step closer, his expression one of earnest compassion. "Jimin, I do understand. We all have our struggles. Just because you can't see mine doesn't mean they aren't there."

That statement is like gasoline on a fire. Jimin's face contorts with fury, his voice rising to a scream. "No! You don't get to say that! You don't get to act like you know what it's like to be me! You're perfect, Yoongi! You're beautiful, talented, and everyone loves you! You have no right to complain about anything!"

Yoongi's heart aches at the pain in Jimin's words. He opens his mouth to respond, but Jimin doesn't give him a chance.

"You're everything I'm not, Yoongi!" Jimin's voice cracks as tears start to stream down his face. "I hate you for it! I hate that you make everything look so easy while I'm falling apart!"

Yoongi takes another step forward, reaching out a hand, but Jimin recoils as if burned. The look in his eyes is one of pure agony, and it tears Yoongi apart.

"Jimin, please-" Yoongi starts, his voice breaking with emotion.

"No!" Jimin screams, his entire body shaking. "I will never, ever like you, Yoongi! There's nothing you can do to make me like you!"

The words hit Yoongi like a physical blow. He feels his own eyes prick with tears, his heart breaking not just for himself, but for Jimin. He can see how much pain Jimin is in, how much he is hurting, and it kills him that he can't take that pain away.

Jimin's chest heaves with sobs now, his face twisted in anguish. "You think you're helping, but you're not! You just make everything worse! I can't stand being around you, knowing I'll never be good enough!"

Yoongi's own tears spill over as he watches Jimin unravel. "Jimin, I-"

But Jimin cuts him off again, screaming with all the pain and anger he has been holding inside. "Just leave me alone, Yoongi! I don't want your pity! I don't want anything from you! You know how long I've been wanting to say this?!"

"I mean every word I said! Never talk to me again, get it?! Swear that you'll never talk to me again. Swear!"

"Jimin, -"

"Swear!"

Yoongi's eyes widen. "O-okay, I- I swear..."

With that, Jimin storms out of the room, slamming the door behind him with a force that rattles the walls. Yoongi stands there, his heart heavy, tears streaming down his face. The silence that follows is deafening.

Yoongi sinks to the floor, his body feeling like it has been drained of all strength. He wraps his arms around himself, trying to hold together the pieces of his shattered heart. He knows that Jimin's words were born out of pain and insecurity, but they still hurt. They hurt deeply.

He takes a deep breath, trying to steady himself. He knows he can't give up on Jimin. He knows that beneath all that anger and pain, Jimin is hurting, and he needs someone to help him through it. Yoongi is determined to be that person, no matter how hard it is, no matter how many times he gets pushed away.

He wipes his tears away and stands up, resolve hardening in his chest. He knows it won't be easy, but he also knows that Jimin is worth it. He will be there for Jimin, even if Jimin doesn't want him to be. Even if it takes ten years.
