"Who did you make cry this time?" Hoseok chuckles, settling into Yoongi's shared room for a late-night catch-up before heading to his own dorm.

Confused, Yoongi furrows his eyebrows. He can't recall making anyone cry today, or at least not intentionally. "What?" he questions, trying to make sense of Hoseok's statement.

Hoseok waves off his confusion and explains, "Dude, the whole school was talking about it. Apparently, you made a dancer cry after he tripped and fell? We take dance together, but I never caught his name."

"Ah, you mean Jimin," Yoongi responds, his attention still focused on his laptop.

Hoseok's eyes widen in recognition. "Yeah, yeah, him. What happened?"

"Jinsu pushed him, and when I tried to help, Jimin ran away," Yoongi plainly recounts, not making a big deal out of it.

Hoseok shakes his head in disbelief. "I swear, some people love to exaggerate. Kids come up with their own stories. But aren't you bothered by all the gossip? Your name was practically on everyone's lips today."

Yoongi shrugs, his eyes finally leaving the screen to meet Hoseok's gaze. "I honestly don't care."

Hoseok presses on, concerned for Jimin. "But what about Jimin?"

"What about him?"

"No one paid him any attention before. Now it's all about 'Yoongi' and 'Jimin.' Won't he hate all this unwanted attention?"

Yoongi takes a moment to ponder the question. "What am I supposed to do? I barely know the kid, and it's pretty clear he can't stand me."

Hoseok gasps dramatically. "How can anyone hate you?!"

A sarcastic smile forms on Yoongi's lips. "Thanks, but it's obvious he can't stand being around me."

Hoseok counters with his insight. "Didn't you say he ran away when you tried to help? It's more likely that he's just embarrassed. You might be overthinking this."

Yoongi looks around the room, lost in his thoughts. Is Hoseok right? Is he just overanalyzing the situation? Strangely, he finds himself caring.

"What should I do then?" he finally asks, seeking Hoseok's advice.

Hoseok shrugs, not having a definite answer. "I dunno. Maybe ask people not to talk about him? You're popular enough that people might listen. You're used to being the talk of the school, but imagine how he feels."

Yoongi doesn't respond right away, lost in his own thoughts. Sensing his friend's need for solitude, Hoseok prepares to leave him alone. "I'm gonna go sleep now. Don't stay up too late," he says softly, showing concern in his voice.

As he opens the door to leave, Hoseok glances back at the younger male peacefully asleep on the other side of the room. "And say hi to Jungkook for me," he adds with a smile and a wave before closing the door behind him, leaving Yoongi in silence.

Left alone with nothing but the sound of Jungkook's gentle breathing, Yoongi finds himself dozing off, his mind consumed for the first time by thoughts of Jimin.

Jimin.

Jimin...

"Jimin," he murmurs to himself without realizing it. Could it really be a misunderstanding between them?

For the first time in a long while, Yoongi spends the night not staring at a blinding screen, but rather, thinking about Jimin.
