Agasthya
I was walking back home along with Avi, who decided to abandon his friends. “Should you not be helping your friends?”, I asked him again.
“Priya and Siddhi told me that I can leave. They don’t say things they don’t mean. I also have other reasons to.., nothing I wanted to come along, so here I am”, he said. I doubt that is the only reason, but I don’t want to force him. That is why I decided to stop this conversation here.
We were walking, and Avi, as usual, jumped around, ran faster, and won the race, which he decided to start and end by himself. Turned around and signaled me to walk faster. I jogged to him, and he made another run. “I won wohooo!” he screamed and made me laugh at his antics.
“What do you think about my friends? Avi asked with his curious eyes. I put my arms around his shoulder as I came jogging towards him, which made him bend a little, giving me access to lock his head as a joke. He bit my arm. We laughed louder now, which made my heart extremely warm.
An amazing aroma from the kitchen welcomed us home. Avi pushed me and reached the kitchen in a hurry, not letting me remove my shoes in peace. “Wash your hands and legs” I screamed. I am sure this man has already gone inside without cleaning himself. I washed my hands and legs to rush into the kitchen. I held Avi by his ear, which turned red due to the pull and dragged him to the bathroom. “Amma!! Agasthya is bullying me” he screamed. Amma laughed, watching us behave like children. I am sure she is happy to see this side of me, which I sometimes miss as well. With Avi, I have always found comfort. He is my home. A brother I want to protect.
