Never Be Alone

Chapter 15

Reagan's POV:

It's been about three weeks since the incident with Hayes. I started homeschool. It's the best decision of my life. I haven't heard from Hayes either. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I miss him but I feel like if I see him I will breakdown. I've been clean for three weeks. Shawn left for Magcon two weeks ago. He tried to get me to come. I said no. He's coming back tonight. I think he's bring the other members with him.

We are having a party for him coming home. I have to go to the grocery store to get food. My parents are even coming home. I put my shoes on and head out the door. I walk down the side walk and it starts to rain. Great. Luckily the store is down the street. I start to run. I finally reach the store. I don't need much but I need a few things. I go to the place section of the store where the food I need is. I get what I need then turn around. I bump into someone and almost fall. The person caught my arm and pulled me towards them. I look up to see Hayes. He looks down at me. He froze.

"Reagan I'm so sorry." He says.

"It's fine." I say. I walk around him and go to the checkout. Once I'm done I start heading home. It's still raining to I run again. I hear someone calling my name behind me. I stop and I turn around. I see Hayes running towards me. I quickly turn around and run again.

I reach my house after a few minutes and run up the step as fast as I can. I search my pockets for the keys to the door but I can't find them. By now Hayes has caught up to me and is right behind me.

"You dropped these at the store." He says holding up my keys.

"Thanks." I say. I take them and turn around. I unlock the door and go in.

"Reagan wait." Hayes says grabbing my arm.

"What?" I snap.

"Can we please talk?" He asks.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because I want to explain why I didn't help you." He says.

"Fine." I say. We both walk in. I put the food on the counter and we both go to the living room and sit on the couch.

"Okay so earlier that morning, right before you got there Austin was talking to me. I told him I didn't want to keep bullying people. I told him it was wrong and bad things could happen. He didn't understand what I meant. I said someone could kill them self and he didn't think it would. I started getting mad and I told him you tried. I really didn't mean to. I didn't help because he also told me that if I said anything or tried to stop him he would hurt you even more. I told him if he laid a finger on you he would regret it. He laughed and punched me. He said he would take you and rape you Reagan. I didn't want that happening to you." Hayes said. I knew he was telling the truth. I mean I guess I would rather get kicked and punched than raped.

"I believe you but I don't know if Shawn will. Wait why aren't you at Magcon?" I asked.

"Because I didn't know if you'd be there and Shawn scares me." He said. Then I look at the clock. Shane will literally be home any second.

"Hayes you have to leave." I say.

"What? Why?" He asks.

"Cause Shawn wil-" I get cut of to a door opening. I stand up and see Shawn standing there.

"Reagan what is he doing here?" Shawn asks. I can tell he's mad.

"He's apologizing." I say.

"Shawn I'm so sorry I didn't help but Austin threatened to rape Reagan if I tried to stop him!" Hayes says.

"Who is this Austin kid? I want to kick his ass!" Shawn yells.

"Shawn calm down. I'm okay. And I will be. Hayes is just another person here to protect me." I say.

"Fine but if he fucks up again I'm not forgiving him." Shawn says.

Hayes walks up to Shawn and gives him a hug. Shawn hugs back. I pull out my phone a take a quick pic. I post it to Twitter. I quickly go up to them and hug them too. Then the rest of the boys come in and join the hug. A few girls I've never see before come in. They take a picture also. We all pull apart and start laughing.

"It's good to have you back little man." Shawn says. I go into the kitchen and start making the food. I put the food in the oven and come back to the living room. I see a few people I don't know.

"Hey I'm Reagan. I'm Shawn's sister." I say.

"Hey, I'm Brooke. I'm dating Jack Johnson." Brooke says.

"Hey, I'm Mikhail. I'm dating Cameron." Mikhail says.

"I'm Lauren. I'm Aaron's sister." Lauren says. I look at Matt and see him staring at Lauren. I think he likes her.

"Nice to meet you guys!" I say. I feel someone poke my back. I turn around and see Josette and Ella!

"Hey guys how are you?!" I ask giving them a huge hug.

"I'm great!" They both say at the same time. We all laugh.

"I have to talk to Matt. I'll be right back." I say to Ella and Josette.

"Okay." They both say. I turn around and walk to Matt.

"Can I talk to you?" I ask him.

"Yeah of course." He says. I see Hayes staring at me. I turn to him and wink. He smirks and I look away. Me and Matt walk into the back porch.

"So you like Lauren huh?" I ask.

"What? No. Who told you that?" He asks.

"I saw you looking at her." I say to him.

"Pshhhh no." He says.

"Matt you can tell me. You're one of my best friends." I say.

"Okay, I do like her. She will never like me back though." He says looking down.

"I'll make a deal. I will take the girls to the mall tomorrow and I will try to find out if she likes you or not." I say.

"Thank you so much Reagan!" He says. Then he hugs me. We both walk back into the living room. I walk past Hayes and he pulls me down onto his lap.

"Hayes I have to take the food out of the oven." I say.

"Fine but hurry back." He says.

I stand up and go to the kitchen. I take the food out of the oven. On my way back I turn around and see my parents.

"Mom, dad!" I scream. I run to them and give them a big hug.

"Hey sweetie." My dad says.

"How are you?" My mom asks.

"Better than ever." I say. And this time I'm not lying.
