Amaira's POV

As Rudransh and I arrived at his mansion, everyone was already outside, waiting with their packed bags.

The weather was perfect—cool, with a gentle breeze that hinted at the impending monsoon.

It was the ideal day for a road trip. My parents, along with Rudransh's uncle, aunt, chachu, and chachi, had decided to travel together in one car, which was spacious enough to accommodate them comfortably.

Aarav bhai, Rudransh, Yashika, Atharv, and I were to ride in another car.

The plan was for Rudransh and Aarav bhai to take turns driving.

Abhishek Bhai was going to join us on the wedding day as he had to go for an urgent meeting.

We all settled into our seats, ready to embark on the journey to Udaipur.

Rudransh and I were in the front, while aarav bhai Yashika and Atharv took the back seat.

As Rudransh drove, I couldn’t help but notice him stealing glances at me every now and then.

His eyes would linger on me for a moment longer than necessary before he’d return his focus to the road.

It made my heart flutter.

Atharv, ever the observant one, finally broke the silence.

“Bhai, you should focus on the road instead of focusing on my di!” he teased, causing everyone in the car to burst out laughing.

Rudransh shot him a playful glare and retorted,

“And I guess you should better keep your mouth shut, Atharv, otherwise the consequences might not be in your favor.”

His tone was light, but it was enough to make Atharv quiet down.

Yashika, on the other hand, was a nonstop chatterbox, keeping the conversation lively as we drove.

Bhai, too, was in high spirits, excited about his upcoming wedding.

We all took turns teasing him, saying things like,

“Bhai, now you’ll forget your one and only sister once bhabhi comes, won’t you?”

Before Aarav bhai could respond, Rudransh cut in, “It’s fine, Amu. But I’ll always remember you, and you’ll always be in my heart.”

The words slipped out so naturally, and it wasn’t until everyone went “awww” that he realized what he had said.

I could feel my cheeks heating up as the others chuckled and teased him for his unintended confession.

After a while, we decided to take a break at a roadside dhaba, where our families were waiting for us.

We all got out of the car, stretching our legs and breathing in the fresh air. I noticed Rudransh standing a little away from the group, so I walked over to him.

“Rudra, listen…” I began, but before I could continue, he turned to me with wide eyes.

“What… what did you just say?” he stammered, clearly taken aback.

“Rudra,” I repeated, smiling at his reaction.

“Say it again,” he urged, leaning in slightly.

“Rudraaa,” I teased, drawing out the syllables.

“Ufff, Rudra suits your mouth more,” he said, his voice low and pleased.

"Call me that only.”

I chuckled at his response, feeling a warmth spread through me. “Okay, Rudra. Now, tell me—should I have a light meal or a good one?”
