Taylor slept in a little later than usual and woke up to see she had a text waiting for her from Travis.

Good morning, sunshine☀️ I have early morning practice and then I'll be watching film until the afternoon. Let me know if you have time tonight to FaceTime. I understand if not, because I know you're so busy. I just wanted to thank you and let you know how much it means to me that you reached out. I really look forward to seeing where this goes, Tay.

A smile spread across Taylor's face as she read the message. Travis's thoughtfulness was unexpected and refreshing. She wasn't used to men being so considerate and upfront, especially not the ones she'd dated in the past. There was something different about him, something that made her heart feel light and hopeful.

She quickly typed back a slightly flirty reply. Good morning, Trav. I can definitely make time for you tonight. Thanks for making me smile this morning, handsome. Have a great practice! 😊

As Travis settled into his warmups, he couldn't stop thinking about Taylor. The call from the night before had left him wanting more.  He didn't want to come on too strong, but at the same time, he couldn't get her out of his head. As he headed to the special teams room to watch film, he saw her text come through and couldn't help but grin.

The rest of the day passed in a blur for both of them. Travis's mind kept drifting back to Taylor, and he found himself glancing at his phone more than usual. Their text conversation flowed easily, naturally, as if they had known each other for years. The banter was light and playful, with just the right amount of flirtation.

As Taylor accepted the FaceTime call, her breath caught for a moment as she took in the sight of Travis on the screen. He was hot! There was no other way to put it. He had clearly just stepped out of the shower, his skin still slightly damp and glowing. His hair was freshly cut, the sharp lines of the fade highlighting his strong, chiseled features. His beard was perfectly trimmed, framing his jawline in a way that emphasized his rugged masculinity.

But what drew her in the most were his eyes. A unique, soft green that had a way of capturing her attention, pulling her in as if he could see right through the screen, beyond the surface, to something deeper.

He wore a simple t-shirt that clung to his broad shoulders and chest, showcasing the powerful build that came from years of hard work and dedication on the field. The fabric stretched taut over his biceps, hinting at the strength he carried with such ease. His basketball shorts hung low on his hips, revealing the defined V of his lower abs, the casual look only adding to his appeal.

As her eyes drifted down, she couldn't help but notice his exposed legs... strong, muscular, and solid. The sight of them reminded her just how much of a man he was, a stark contrast to the boys she had dated in the past. There was nothing delicate or unsure about him; he was all man, from the broad sweep of his shoulders to the powerful muscles in his legs. The realization sent a thrill through her, a mix of excitement and anticipation. This was a man who knew who he was, what he wanted, and how to get it.

"Hey," she greeted him, her voice soft and inviting.

"Hey, Tay," Travis replied with a smile. He walked up the stairs to his bedroom, wanting to get cozy as they chatted. "What are you working on?" he asked. Taylor sitting cross-legged on her bed, surrounded by an array of books, notebooks, and scattered sheets of paper.

"Oh, just some ideas for new lyrics," Taylor said, glancing down at the scattered pages around her. "You know how it is. Inspiration strikes at the most inconvenient times."

Travis laughed as he settled onto his bed, "I wouldn't know about writing lyrics, but I get what you mean. I'm glad you picked up, though. I've been looking forward to this all day."
