"I'm pregnant," her whole body shaking as the weight of the words.
It took a moment for Travis to register what she had said. But when he did, he immediately wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight. She began to cry, and he rocked her gently, whispering, "Sweetie, it's okay. I've got you."
"I'm scared," Taylor managed to say between sobs, her face pressed into his chest, her fingers knotted in his sweater, holding on as though she might fall apart.
"It's okay" Travis reassured her, his voice steady even as he felt his own emotions swirling. He pulled her even closer, letting her fall into his arms completely.
Taylor cried harder, her words barely audible. "I'm sorry."
"Babe, don't be sorry," Travis said softly, lifting her chin so she would look at him. "Look at me. We've got this," he whispered before kissing her forehead and pulling her back into his embrace, his arms strong and protective.
Taylor collapsing into him her breath shaky. "This is too much," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I don't know if I can handle everything happening at once."
Travis tightened his hold on her, his heart aching at the weight she carried. "You don't have to handle it alone, Tay. I'm right here with you, every step of the way."
Without saying a word, Travis gently scooped her up and carried her to their bed. He laid her down with care, then slid in behind her, wrapping his body around hers protectively. Travis began to run his hand gently over Taylor's back. His fingers traced slow, soothing circles in time with her breathing, a silent attempt to help her relax.
As they lay there in the quiet, Taylor's thoughts started to settle. She couldn't help but notice how Travis had responded to her without missing a beat. From the moment she said the words "I'm pregnant," he hadn't hesitated. He hadn't asked her to explain or process it aloud. Instead, he simply wrapped her in his arms, offering the calm presence she needed. He didn't rush to excitement or ask a hundred questions. He just... took care of her, sensing that what she needed most in that moment was not words, but comfort.
Finally, she broke the silence. "I'm sorry I didn't react the way I thought I should have."
"What do you mean?" Travis asked, his voice gentle. "Babe, you're scared, and that's okay. Fuck, I'm scared too. But we're in this together."
"Together," Taylor repeated, breathing in deeply as she turned to look at him, her hand moving to his cheek. "I'm pregnant," she said again, her voice soft and filled with emotion.
"You're going to be a momma," Travis whispered, leaning in to kiss her gently, his lips full of love and care.
As the words sank in, Taylor felt a wave of emotion rush over her. She was going to be a mom, something she had always dreamed of. And now, it was real. She was having a baby. Their baby. The moment felt surreal, yet it was everything she had ever wanted. "Oh my god...this is really happening," she says smiling, the reality settling in deeper with every heartbeat.
"We're having a baby!" He low volume cheers, his excitement starting to bubble over as he kissed her again.
"You're going to be a dad," then she questions "Or...are you going to be a 'Popa' like your dad and Jason?"
Rolling her gently onto her back, Travis rested his head lightly on her stomach. "Hello in there," he said softly, his voice filled with awe. "I'm your daddy. I love you, and I love your mom so much." He smiled, his hand gently caressing her belly "I can't wait to meet you."
Taylor giggled, her heart swelling with love as she watched this giant man tenderly talk to their baby. God, she loved him. She couldn't imagine doing this with anyone else.
