The tour had come to an end, and the holidays were a whirlwind of football and family. Taylor was just beginning to catch her breath, trying to find her balance again. Post-tour life always brought a mix of emotions that were excitement, exhaustion, and the inevitable adjustment to the slower pace. The Chiefs had made the playoffs, but it had been a grueling season for everyone. Between injuries, hard-fought games, and constant media attention, Travis had pushed himself to the limit. Taylor, ever supportive, had been at nearly every home game, but as the playoff schedule rolled out, a new challenge emerged...security. It wasn't just about protecting Taylor anymore; the intensity of her fame brought a whole different level of concern.
For weeks, her security team had been in talks with various stadiums about accommodating her needs for away games. Most owners were cooperative, understanding the magnitude of the situation, but some weren't willing to make the extra effort. One particular owner, whose team the Chiefs would face in the upcoming playoff round, flat-out refused the additional security measures required. Taylor understood it was a logistical nightmare for some venues, but it still stung.
Sitting in their kitchen after a long day, Travis brought up the topic. "So, what's the latest on the game next week?" he asked, his tone more serious than usual. He already knew the answer but wanted to hear it from her.
Taylor sighed, "as of right now, it's a no. The stadium's security team doesn't want to deal with the added measures my team is requesting, and the owner isn't budging. Unless something changes in the next few days, I won't be there."
Travis's jaw tightened, his frustration evident. "That's bullshit, Tay. You've been to games before with no issue. Why can't they just make the adjustments? It's the playoffs, for God's sake."
She looked up at him, her eyes a mixture of understanding and disappointment. "I get it. It's a lot to ask. They don't want to disrupt their security setup for one person, even if it's me. I mean, there's already a heightened focus on the players and teams. It's just one more layer they don't want to deal with."
Travis leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms, clearly still upset. "I don't care how much extra work it is. You're my wife, and you should be able to come to the game. I don't see why they can't just figure it out. It's not like this is new."
Taylor gave him a small smile, trying to ease the tension. "I know, babe. Trust me, I want to be there just as much as you want me to. But remember, they know me as your girlfriend, not your wife. To them, I'm still just 'Taylor Swift, the pop star,' not Mrs. Kelce. And I really don't want to add any extra pressure on the team."
Travis's expression softened slightly at her words, but his frustration lingered. "It shouldn't matter. Wife, girlfriend... whatever. You're important to me, and that's what counts. They should make it work."
Taylor reached over, touching his arm gently. "I know you hate this, but it's just a few games. We'll figure it out. I'll be watching, cheering you on from home. And maybe by the time the next game rolls around, things will have changed."
His face softened, but the fire in his eyes didn't fade. "I just don't like the idea of you missing this because of their stubbornness. You've supported me through everything. You should be there."
Taylor holding his hand, her voice gentle. "I'll always support you, no matter where I am. And I'll be there for the next one, for sure. Just focus on winning this game, okay?"
Travis exhaled, knowing she was right. "Yeah, alright," he muttered. But deep down, he knew he wasn't going to let this go without a fight. He would see if there was anything he could do to change the situation, he wasn't about to let her miss a game just because someone didn't want to accommodate her.
