Title: My Heart Healer
Chapter 1: Love at first sight
The moon hung low in the midnight sky, casting a cold, silver light over Seoul. The city that never slept was quieter at this hour, its usual buzz reduced to a distant hum. Yoongi stood alone on the balcony of his small apartment, the glow from the tip of his cigarette flickering in the darkness. He inhaled deeply, letting the smoke fill his lungs before slowly exhaling, watching as it disappeared into the night.
He leaned against the railing, his gaze unfocused as he stared out at the city lights. The familiar ache in his chest tightened, a constant reminder of the emptiness that had taken root inside him. His thoughts drifted back to the time when everything had been different-when his heart had been full, and love had seemed like a promise that would never be broken.
But that was before.
Before , his first love, had walked out of his life, leaving behind only memories that haunted him. They had been so in love, so sure that nothing could come between them. But dreams had a way of complicating things, and his ex boyfriend dream of becoming a K-pop idol had demanded more than their love could offer. The breakup hadn't been bitter, just heartbreaking-an amicable parting for the sake of one's future.
Yoongi's life had never been the same since. The once vibrant colors of his world had faded into shades of gray. Love, he had decided, was nothing more than an illusion, something to be avoided at all costs.
He sighed deeply, flicking the ash from his cigarette into the night. "Maybe this is all there is," he murmured to himself, the words heavy with resignation. "Just me and these damn memories."
As the first light of dawn crept into the sky, Yoongi extinguished the cigarette and headed inside. He had a routine to maintain, one that kept him from drowning completely in his thoughts. After a quick change into his running gear, he grabbed his keys and left the apartment, the quiet streets of Seoul welcoming him.
The crisp morning air was a sharp contrast to the staleness of his apartment, and Yoongi set off at a steady pace, hoping the run would clear his mind. His breaths were even, his focus on the rhythm of his feet hitting the pavement.
It was just after a sharp turn on a narrow street that it happened-a sudden collision that took him by surprise. Yoongi stumbled slightly but managed to catch himself, looking up to see who he had bumped into.
"Sorry," he muttered automatically, his voice gruff, as he prepared to keep walking.
But the person he had collided with wasn't moving on. Jimin stood there, blinking up at Yoongi with wide eyes. The moment felt like it stretched longer than it should have, and for a second, the world around them seemed to pause.
Jimin's heart skipped a beat as he took in the sight of Yoongi-his tousled hair, the distant, sad look in his eyes, the quiet intensity that surrounded him. He had never seen anyone like him before, and something about Yoongi drew him in, made him want to know more.
But before Jimin could say anything, Yoongi was already walking away, his footsteps echoing down the empty street. Jimin watched him go, unable to shake the feeling that this chance meeting was anything but ordinary.
Without thinking, Jimin began to follow, his eyes fixed on the man who had unknowingly captured his attention. The morning jog that Yoongi had intended to be a solitary escape was about to take an unexpected turn.
There was something about Yoongi that felt... different. The way his eyes held a quiet sadness, the way his voice had been so distant yet soft when he'd muttered his apology-it all drew Jimin in like nothing ever had before.
As Yoongi disappeared around the corner, Jimin found himself unable to move, his mind replaying the brief encounter over and over again. His heart pounded in his chest, a warmth spreading through him that he hadn't felt in a long time.
"This is crazy," Jimin whispered to himself, a small, incredulous smile forming on his lips. But even as he tried to shake off the feeling, he knew it was already too late. He was captivated-completely, hopelessly captivated.
Without much thought, Jimin found his feet moving, following the path Yoongi had taken. He kept a careful distance, not wanting to be noticed, but he couldn't help himself. There was something about this man that made him want to know more, to understand the pain that lingered in his eyes, and to see the world through his perspective.
He trailed behind Yoongi, watching as he finished his jog and made his way back to a quiet residential area. Jimin's curiosity only grew as he observed Yoongi enter an old but well-maintained apartment building. The simplicity of the place contrasted with the complex emotions Jimin sensed from Yoongi, making him wonder even more about the life this man led.
Jimin lingered outside the building, memorizing the location. "So, this is where you live," he murmured, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. He didn't know what he was doing, or why he was so drawn to someone he had only just met. But one thing was clear-he wanted to see Yoongi again, to be closer to him, and maybe, just maybe, to bring a little light back into his life.
Over the next few days, Jimin found himself thinking about Yoongi constantly. The image of him standing alone in the early morning light, with that distant, melancholic look in his eyes, was etched into his mind. It wasn't just physical attraction-though Yoongi was undoubtedly handsome. It was something deeper, something that made Jimin want to break through the walls he could sense around Yoongi's heart.
Driven by this newfound determination, Jimin started showing up in the area around Yoongi's apartment, hoping to catch another glimpse of him. He felt a bit silly, like a lovestruck puppy chasing after someone who had barely noticed him. But every time he caught sight of Yoongi-whether it was leaving his apartment for work, or returning late at night-his heart would leap, and he knew he couldn't stop now.
One morning, after carefully observing Yoongi's routine, Jimin worked up the courage to do more than just watch from afar. He waited until Yoongi stepped out of his building, and then casually walked by, pretending it was a coincidence.
"Good morning," Jimin said with a bright smile, his eyes twinkling as he greeted Yoongi.
Yoongi glanced at him briefly, recognition flickering in his eyes, but his expression remained guarded. "Morning," he replied curtly before continuing on his way.
Jimin wasn't discouraged. The small interaction only fueled his resolve. He had a plan now, and he was determined to get closer to Yoongi, to find a way into his heart-even if it meant starting with the smallest of steps.
