Chapter - 12 so talented… and so broken?

Late that night, after a long day of working with Yoongi and Jimin trying to navigate the unspoken tension between them, Yoongi Ignore him completely.

Jimin returned to his apartment. He was exhausted, but a part of him was still buzzing with the excitement of being close to Yoongi, even if the older man had kept him at a distance. Jimin set his bag down and began to unwind, preparing for a quiet evening.

As he unpacked his belongings, he noticed something unusual in his bag—a small pen drive that definitely wasn’t his. He furrowed his brow, trying to remember where it could have come from. Then it hit him: Yoongi had been working with a similar-looking drive earlier in the studio. Jimin must have accidentally taken it when he gathered his things.

“Oh no…” Jimin muttered to himself, feeling a pang of guilt. He knew how meticulous Yoongi was about his work, especially when it came to his music. If this was something important, he couldn’t afford to lose it.

He picked up the pen drive, intending to return it first thing in the morning. But then curiosity got the better of him. Yoongi’s music was legendary, known for its depth and emotion. What if this drive contained something new? Something unreleased? The thought was tantalizing, and despite knowing he probably shouldn’t, Jimin found himself plugging the pen drive into his laptop.

His heart raced as he opened the drive. There was only one file on it, simply labeled “New Song.” Jimin hesitated for a moment, his finger hovering over the play button. But the temptation was too strong. With a deep breath, he clicked play.

The moment the music began, Jimin felt himself being drawn in. The melody was haunting, a blend of soft piano and deep, resonant beats that seemed to echo with unspoken pain. Then Yoongi’s voice came in, raw and full of emotion. It was unlike anything Jimin had ever heard before. The lyrics spoke of heartbreak, of loss, and of a deep, unending loneliness that pierced through every word.

Jimin closed his eyes, letting the music wash over him. He could feel the pain in Yoongi’s voice, the way each word seemed to carry the weight of the world. It was as if Yoongi had poured his very soul into the song, leaving nothing behind. Jimin couldn’t help but feel a profound connection to it, as if he was glimpsing a side of Yoongi that the older man kept hidden from everyone.

As the song reached its climax, Jimin’s heart ached. He could sense the struggle Yoongi had faced, the battles he had fought, both with the world and within himself. And yet, there was a beauty in that pain, a resilience that spoke of someone who had been through so much but had never given up.

When the song finally ended, Jimin sat in silence, the emotions swirling inside him. He hadn’t just listened to a song—he had experienced a piece of Yoongi’s soul. And in that moment, Jimin felt his admiration for Yoongi deepen. He had always been drawn to the older man, but now it was something more. He could see the cracks in Yoongi’s carefully constructed facade, the vulnerability that lay beneath the surface.

Jimin leaned back in his chair, staring at the ceiling as the final notes of the song lingered in his mind. “How can someone be so talented… and so broken? But II can heal him only if he give me a chance.” he whispered to himself.

He couldn’t help but feel a wave of sympathy for Yoongi. The pain in the song wasn’t just an artistic expression—it was real, something Yoongi had lived through.

And just like that, Jimin felt himself falling for Yoongi all over again, but this time it was different. It wasn’t just the initial attraction, the excitement of being near someone so talented and enigmatic. Now, he felt a deeper connection, a desire to understand Yoongi’s pain and maybe, just maybe, help heal it.

Jimin knew he should return the pen drive as soon as possible, but part of him didn’t want to. He wanted to hold onto this piece of Yoongi, to keep it close to him. But he also knew that this was something personal, something Yoongi hadn’t intended to share—at least not yet.

With a heavy sigh, Jimin removed the pen drive from his laptop and placed it on his bedside table. He would return it tomorrow, and he would pretend he hadn’t listened to it, even though the song would undoubtedly haunt him for a long time.

As he got ready for bed, Jimin couldn’t shake the feeling that there was so much more to Yoongi than he had ever imagined. He didn’t just want to be close to Yoongi anymore—he wanted to be there for him, to be someone Yoongi could lean on, someone who could help him carry the weight of his pain.

And maybe, just maybe, Jimin thought as he turned off the lights and climbed into bed, Yoongi might let him.
