Chapter - 9 we are no longer strangers!

Yoongi raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by Jimin’s response. “I see. Well, we’ll see how long that confidence lasts,” he said with a slight smirk. “But for now, why don’t you come over here and take a seat? I could use a fresh pair of ears on this track.”

Jimin’s eyes lit up at the invitation. “Of course, sir, I will definitely help you with whatever you want.” he replied eagerly, moving closer to Yoongi’s desk.

He pulled up a chair and sat down beside him, his heart racing with excitement. This was it—the start of his new job, working side by side with Min Yoongi.

As Jimin settled into his seat, Yoongi turned back to his computer, pulling up the track he had been working on. “Listen to this and tell me what you think,” he said, his tone more serious now as he slipped back into work mode.

Jimin leaned in, focusing on the music as it played through the speakers. The track was raw, unfinished, but it had that unmistakable Yoongi touch—complex beats, layered melodies, and an emotional depth that tugged at the heartstrings. Jimin closed his eyes, letting the music wash over him, trying to absorb every detail.

When the track ended, Yoongi turned to Jimin, waiting for his feedback. “Well? What do you think?”

Jimin opened his eyes, meeting Yoongi’s gaze. “It’s incredible,” he said honestly, his voice filled with admiration. “The way you’ve layered the vocals and the beat—it’s powerful, but there’s also this underlying vulnerability. It’s like you’re telling a story without words.”

Yoongi’s expression softened slightly, a hint of pride in his eyes. “You’ve got a good ear,” he admitted, his tone almost begrudging. “Most people wouldn’t pick up on that. Because they can't understand the real meaning behind the music.”

Jimin smiled, feeling a warmth spread through him at the compliment. “Thank you, sir. I’m just glad I could help.”

Yoongi nodded, turning back to his computer. “Well, there’s still a lot of work to do. You’re here to assist me, right? So let’s get to it.”

And just like that, Jimin found himself thrown into the whirlwind of Yoongi’s creative process. The hours flew by as they worked together, Yoongi explaining his vision and Jimin offering his thoughts and suggestions. It was intense, challenging, and at times a bit overwhelming, but Jimin loved every second of it. Being able to see Yoongi in his element, to contribute in his own small way, was more than he had ever hoped for.

As the day went on, the initial awkwardness between them began to fade. Yoongi, though reserved and focused, started to open up a bit, asking Jimin about his background and interests. Jimin, in turn, shared his passion for music and how much Yoongi’s work had inspired him over the years.

By the time the session came to an end, Jimin felt a sense of accomplishment he had never experienced before. He had made it through his first day, and not only that, he had earned a small measure of Yoongi’s respect. It wasn’t much, but it was a start.

“Not bad for your first day,” Yoongi said as he saved the final edits and shut down his computer. “I think we might actually get along.”

Jimin grinned, his heart swelling with pride. “Thank you, sir. I’ll do my best to keep up.”

Yoongi stood up, stretching his arms above his head. “Just don’t get too comfortable,” he warned with a teasing glint in his eyes. “I can be a tough boss.”

Jimin laughed, feeling more at ease than he had all day. “I wouldn’t have it any other way. And I still remember you refuse to talk to me because I was just stranger but now I am no longer as stranger because you talk so much with me and I am happy about it, boss!”

Yoongi said nothing after this because he also remember when he refused talk to jimin in the park and he also recognize him well but still behave like hears nothing at all.

As they left the studio together, Jimin couldn’t help but feel that this was the beginning of something amazing. He had a long way to go, and there would undoubtedly be challenges ahead, but for the first time in a long time, he felt like he was exactly where he was meant to be.

And as for Yoongi, well, Jimin was determined to prove himself worthy of the opportunity he had been given. Whatever it took, he would be there—ready to assist, ready to learn, and ready to support the man who had unknowingly changed his life through music.

This was just the beginning. Just wait for so much more coming to both of them...

As the day progressed, Jimin couldn't help but let his excitement bubble over. Working so closely with Yoongi was a dream come true, and his naturally playful personality began to shine through as they continued to work together.

As they sat side by side in the studio, Jimin found himself sneaking glances at Yoongi's focused expression, his mind racing with thoughts. Should he try to lighten the mood a bit? Maybe a little flirting would break the ice and make Yoongi smile. He couldn’t resist the temptation to try.

"So, Yoongi-ssi," Jimin began with a playful lilt in his voice, "do you always look this good while working, or is it just because I'm here?" He added a wink for good measure, hoping to draw out some kind of reaction from Yoongi.

Yoongi barely glanced up from his screen, his expression unchanging as he continued to tweak the levels on the track. "I always look like this," he responded flatly, his tone neither encouraging nor dismissive—just indifferent.

Jimin felt a small pang of disappointment, but he wasn’t ready to give up just yet. "Well, it’s a good look. If this music thing doesn’t work out, you could always model."

"Mm-hmm," Yoongi murmured, clearly more absorbed in his work than in Jimin's attempts at banter.

Jimin tried another angle, leaning in a little closer to Yoongi, close enough to catch a whiff of his cologne. "You know, Yoongi-ssi, if you ever need someone to take your mind off all this work, I’m just a call away," he said softly, his voice laced with a flirtatious undertone.

Yoongi’s fingers paused briefly on the keyboard, and for a split second, Jimin thought he might have finally broken through Yoongi's focused demeanor. But then Yoongi simply resumed typing, as if nothing had happened. "Noted," he replied curtly, his voice betraying no emotion.

Jimin's shoulders slumped slightly as he realized that his flirtation wasn't having the desired effect. If anything, Yoongi seemed completely uninterested, as though he was brushing off Jimin's advances like a minor distraction. Jimin tried to laugh it off, but the truth was, it stung a little. He had hoped to connect with Yoongi on a more personal level, but it was becoming clear that Yoongi wasn't interested in anything beyond work—at least, not with him.
