Chapter - 10 He's so beautiful
As the next afternoon wore on, Jimin continued to assist Yoongi with his tasks, but the light-hearted flirtation was replaced by a quieter, more subdued energy.
Jimin still smiled and did his best to contribute, but the playful spark was gone, replaced by a growing sense of self-doubt. He had been so excited about this job, about the possibility of getting to know Yoongi better, but now he was starting to wonder if maybe he had misread the situation entirely.
Maybe Yoongi wasn’t interested in him at all. Maybe he was just another assistant, another cog in the machine. The thought made Jimin’s heart sink a little, and for the first time that day, he found himself questioning if he was really cut out for this.
As they wrapped up their work for the day, Jimin stood up and began to gather his things. "I guess that's it for today," he said, trying to keep his voice upbeat despite the disappointment gnawing at him. "Thanks for letting me help out, Yoongi-ssi."
Yoongi glanced up, finally giving Jimin his full attention for the first time in hours. "You did well today," he said simply, his expression unreadable. "I’ll see you tomorrow."
Jimin nodded, forcing a smile. "Yeah, see you tomorrow."
With that, Jimin left the studio, the door closing behind him with a soft click. As he walked down the hallway, he couldn’t help but feel a heavy weight in his chest. The day had started out with so much excitement and anticipation, but now he just felt… sad. He had wanted so badly to impress Yoongi, to maybe even catch his eye in a way that went beyond work, but it seemed that Yoongi wasn’t interested in anything more than a professional relationship.
By the time Jimin made it outside, the sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the city. He stopped for a moment, taking a deep breath and trying to shake off the lingering sadness. It was only the first day, he reminded himself. Maybe Yoongi just needed time to warm up to him. Maybe tomorrow would be different.
But deep down, Jimin couldn’t help but worry that no matter what he did, Yoongi would always see him as just another assistant—nothing more, nothing less. And that thought hurt more than he was willing to admit.

The next day, Jimin was back at Yoongi's studio, eager to prove himself and hopeful that today might be different. He told himself that he wouldn't let yesterday's disappointment dampen his spirits. After all, it was still a new job, and he had to remain professional, even if his heart yearned for something more.
Yoongi was, as always, engrossed in his work, his attention focused on the mixing board in front of him. Jimin hovered nearby, ready to assist whenever needed. The tension from yesterday still lingered in the air, but Jimin tried his best to shake it off.
As the day wore on, Yoongi asked Jimin to fetch a document from the far side of the studio. Jimin quickly complied, walking over to grab the folder. As he returned, he noticed that Yoongi was sitting on the edge of his chair, completely absorbed in his work. Jimin stepped closer, trying to hand over the document, but in his rush, he miscalculated the distance and tripped over the edge of the rug.
Time seemed to slow as Jimin stumbled forward, the folder slipping from his grasp. He tried to catch himself, but momentum had other plans, and before he knew it, he fell right into Yoongi’s lap.
The impact was soft, almost gentle, but the surprise of it left both of them wide-eyed. For a few heart-stopping moments, neither of them moved. Jimin's hands rested on Yoongi’s chest, and he could feel the steady beat of Yoongi’s heart beneath his palm. Their faces were only inches apart, close enough that Jimin could see every detail of Yoongi’s face—the sharpness of his jawline, the softness of his lips, the depth of his dark eyes.
Jimin's breath caught in his throat, his heart pounding so loudly he was sure Yoongi could hear it. He found himself lost in those deep, mesmerizing eyes, unable to tear his gaze away. For a brief, breathtaking moment, the world around them seemed to disappear, leaving just the two of them, suspended in time.
In that instant, Jimin's mind was filled with thoughts he couldn't control. He's so beautiful,* Jimin thought, his eyes tracing the contours of Yoongi's face. *How can someone be this perfect?* His heart swelled with a mix of admiration and affection, and for a moment, he imagined what it would be like to stay like this—to stay close to Yoongi, to be the person who made him smile, who made him happy.
But the spell was broken when Yoongi blinked, snapping back to reality. His eyes widened in shock as he realized what was happening. Quickly, he placed his hands on Jimin’s shoulders and gently but firmly pushed him away.
"Be careful," Yoongi said, his voice steady but with a hint of something Jimin couldn't quite place—perhaps discomfort or irritation. "You shouldn't be so clumsy."
Jimin, still reeling from the unexpected closeness and the way his heart had raced, quickly scrambled off Yoongi’s lap. He stood there awkwardly, his face flushed with embarrassment. "I—I'm so sorry, Yoongi-ssi," he stammered, not sure where to look. "I didn’t mean to—"
Yoongi held up a hand, cutting him off. "It's fine. Just… be more careful next time."
Jimin nodded, feeling a pang of disappointment mixed with embarrassment. He had let himself get carried away, and now he was paying the price for it. The way Yoongi had pushed him away—so quickly, so decisively—made it clear that the older man wasn’t interested in anything beyond a professional relationship.
Jimin had crossed a line, even if by accident, and now he had to face the consequences.
The rest of the day passed in a blur for Jimin. He did his best to focus on his tasks, but the memory of that moment—of being so close to Yoongi, of feeling his heartbeat beneath his hand—kept replaying in his mind. He knew he had to put it behind him, but it was hard when his heart kept reminding him of how perfect it had felt, even if only for a second.
