Chapter 5 : The Interview
Jimin took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. “Yes, I’m considering applying for the position. I know it’s going to be challenging, but I’m willing to take the risk. I’ve already talked to my current employer about taking a two-month leave. They’ve agreed to let me work part-time from home as a graphic designer during this period.”
Jungkook’s voice was encouraging. “That’s a big step, Jimin. Balancing both jobs will be tough, but if you’re passionate about it, it might be worth it. Have you thought about what you’re going to say in your application?”
Jimin nodded, even though Jungkook couldn’t see him. “Yes, I’m drafting a cover letter that highlights my skills and experience in management. I want to make sure it stands out. I plan to mention my background in graphic design and my dedication to the job.”
Jungkook’s voice was supportive. “You’ve got this, Jimin. Just be genuine and show your enthusiasm. Yoongi’s looking for someone who’s passionate and reliable.”
“Thanks, Kookie. I really appreciate your support,” Jimin said, feeling more confident. “I’m going to get started on my application right away. I want to make sure everything is perfect.”
“Good luck, Jimin. I’ll be here if you need any help,” Jungkook replied. “And remember, even if it’s tough, you’re doing this for a reason. Follow your heart.”
Jimin ended the call with a smile, feeling a renewed sense of determination. He spent the next few hours meticulously preparing his application materials. He crafted a cover letter that expressed his genuine interest in the position and his eagerness to contribute to Yoongi’s success.
Later that afternoon, he sent his application via email and settled into his chair, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. He knew that getting the job wouldn’t be easy, but he was ready to put in the effort. He was driven by his desire to get closer to Yoongi and perhaps, just perhaps, find a chance for something more.
Jimin took a moment to reflect on his decision. Despite the challenges of managing both jobs, he felt a sense of purpose. He was taking a leap of faith, driven by his feelings for Yoongi and his belief in the opportunity before him.
As he looked out the window at the bustling city below, he whispered to himself, “This is just the beginning. I’ll make it work, no matter what.”
He took another sip of coffee and prepared himself for the journey ahead, knowing that the path to winning Yoongi’s heart might be difficult, but it was one he was willing to take.
Jimin sat at his desk, the hum of the office around him barely registering as he stared at his phone. His heart skipped a beat as the caller ID displayed "Suga Management Agency." With trembling hands, he answered the call.
“Hello, this is Jimin.”
“Hello, Jimin,” a calm, professional voice responded. “This is Ms. Park from Suga Management Agency. I’m calling to inform you that we’ve reviewed your application, and we’d like to invite you for an interview. Can you come to our office tomorrow morning?”
Jimin’s mind raced. “Yes, of course! What time should I be there?”
“We’d like you to come in at 10 AM,” Ms. Park replied. “Please bring a copy of your resume and any other relevant documents. We look forward to meeting you.”
“Thank you so much for the opportunity,” Jimin said, trying to keep his voice steady.
“See you tomorrow, then,” Ms. Park concluded before hanging up.
Jimin sat in stunned silence for a moment, his heart pounding. He had made it to the interview stage! But now, the gravity of the situation began to sink in. He was going to meet Yoongi’s agency, and he had to be prepared.
The rest of the day dragged on, with Jimin’s mind replaying the upcoming interview. He found it hard to focus on his work, his thoughts consumed by how he would present himself and what questions he might face. He spent the evening preparing his resume, crafting a portfolio of his previous work, and researching the agency’s recent projects and Yoongi’s work.
That night, Jimin barely slept, his mind racing with worries and excitement. As morning came, he felt a mix of anxiety and determination. He dressed in his best suit, making sure everything was perfect, and headed to the agency’s office.
When he arrived, the building’s sleek modern exterior was both intimidating and impressive. Jimin took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. He entered the lobby and approached the receptionist.
“Hi, I’m Jimin. I’m here for an interview with Ms. Park.”
The receptionist smiled and directed him to a seating area. “Please have a seat. Ms. Park will be with you shortly.”
Jimin sat down, his heart racing as he tried to focus on calming himself. After what felt like an eternity, Ms. Park appeared, her demeanor professional yet warm.
“Jimin, right?” she asked, extending her hand. “I’m Ms. Park. It’s nice to meet you. Shall we get started?”
Jimin shook her hand, trying to keep his voice steady. “Yes, thank you for having me.”
Ms. Park led him to a conference room where she gestured for him to take a seat. After a few moments of setting up, she began the interview.
“So, Jimin, tell me about your background and why you’re interested in the position of Yoongi’s personal manager,” Ms. Park began.
Jimin took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. “I have a background in graphic design and management. I’ve been working as a graphic designer for several years, and I’ve also had experience in project management. I’m very passionate about music, and I’ve always admired Yoongi’s work. When I saw the job posting, I saw it as a perfect opportunity to combine my skills with my love for music.”
Ms. Park nodded, listening intently. “That’s great. Can you tell me more about how you handle stressful situations and manage multiple responsibilities?”
Jimin smiled, feeling more confident as he spoke. “I’m used to managing tight deadlines and balancing multiple projects. In my current job, I often juggle several assignments at once, and I’ve developed strong organizational and time-management skills. I believe that these skills will help me handle the demands of managing Yoongi’s schedule and responsibilities.”
Ms. Park seemed pleased with his responses and continued with a few more questions about his experience and how he would handle specific scenarios related to the job. Jimin answered as best as he could, focusing on his passion and dedication.
After about an hour, Ms. Park concluded the interview. “Thank you, Jimin. You’ve provided us with a lot of valuable information. We’ll be in touch soon with our decision.”
Jimin stood up, feeling a mix of relief and apprehension. “Thank you for the opportunity, Ms. Park. I look forward to hearing from you.”
As he left the office, Jimin felt a surge of hope. The interview had gone well, and he was determined to make the most of this opportunity. He walked back to his apartment, the city bustling around him, feeling more determined than ever to prove himself and hopefully, to get closer to Yoongi.
