Getting up in the morning is a total bummer, I tell you.

Begrudgingly, I dragged my sorry ass from my bed and walked towards my wardrobe and unlike some girls; I don't have a hard time deciding what to wear. I mean what is so hard in deciding between a skirt and a shirt?

And besides, I don't have a whole lot of clothes which made it any harder.

So I took out a tank top, some fitted jeans and making up my hair, I bounced towards the kitchen.

You could just smell the heavenly smell of the maple syrup pancakes as they were sitting untouched on the table. Smelling the unmistakable aroma, I quickly lunged forward for it when my mom snapped my hand away.

That was very predictable.

I tried to lung again but my mom swapped my hand away again, her pretty features conjuring up in annoyance.

"Not for you, Chloe! I made them for Shane" she said and I cringed.

My mom always sided with Shane and even if he was wrong, he was always considered right so you get the idea of my life. It's really sublime and just.

If you actually believed that last part then you must take that book Penny gave to Sheldon.

"Well, what about my breakfast?"

"There's some toast on the slab, pick it up" she said, while calling for Shane to come down.

Sometimes, I envied my brother a bit too much. Clearing my head, I quietly reached for the gate the faster I leave the better.

I hunched my shoulder up, draping my bag over it, phew, it was really heavy.

I had inkling that her not so caring attitude towards me somehow was linked to me outing her secret.

This sudden thought linked my train of thought to my dad who I haven't seen in real life for more than some time. I just wished he'd come to meet me for even a second. Just a glimpse would have been fine.

As I opened the door, my eyes warmed to see my dad. He smiled warmly at me and pulled me into a hug.

Looks like my wish had been granted. I smiled warmly, taking in his noticeable posture; nostalgia hit me like an old friend.

"How is my teddy bear?" he asked,

and I felt my eyes getting watery. Two years former, my parents divorced and unable to find a living, my dad shifted to New York and this was the first time in two years that I saw him. Sure we communicated through phones but it just wasn't the same as now.

"I missed you, Dad" I said in his shirt and he nodded understandingly. We were always one, a team against others and not even a distance of cities could undo that.

"I know you did" he said, giving me a smile. One of his award winning worthy. And it still won my heart but in a daughter way, because I'm not incest interested.Lol.

"Derrick"

"Ah, Veronica"

That, Ladies and Gentlemen was how my parents talked to each other whenever they were face to face. I could feel hatred in my mother's voice while undying love in my dad's.

You see, my mom blamed on my dad that he was cheating on her with his secretary, cliché right? Well the blame was false, because I knew his secretary but my mom didn't believe us.

What she didn't tell us was that she was having an affair with our gardener and don't ask me how I found out. Well, let's just say, they were in a VERY intimate position when I found out. That isn't what you call a memorable memory.
