15: Awkward Family Reunion

<<Yes and Gray and Rakutsu are finally reunited. Sort of. And yes, Gray recognizes her brother. THIS IS HYUU's POV>>

There was an awkward pause. I don't know why. Just people staring at people. Like me glaring at Blonde Guy and Blonde Guy staring at Faitsu and Faitsu gaping at Team Plasma and Black looking guiltily at Gray and Gray staring at Rakutsu and Rakutsu staring back at her. 

Oh and a beaten, just-regained-consciousness Team Plasma scum staring at us.

"Oh... my..." Gray started to say.

And then everyone started to speak.

Me = What's going on?!
Blonde Guy = Wow, you handled all that thugs. Oh, I'm sorry, I think I'm interfering with this mission. I'm really, really sorry. I just wanted to help Faitsu-
Faitsu = ... Team Plasma... 
Black = Hey, Gray, I've handled this mission already, you can go back to sleep. Not that I'm telling you can't handle the mission. I mean, you need the rest. I mean- Oh forget it.
Rakutsu = Okay, this is getting really awkward. I didn't do anything I swear!
Team Plasma = I need to escape, wake up you morons!

And then Gray hugged-tackled Rakutsu for no apparent reason.

And everyone just returned to the awkward silence theme. I can feel Black's inside screaming "WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON WHY IS MY GIRLFRIEND HUGGING MY TEAM MATE," by his narrowed eyes. And the rest are like: what the heck is going on?

"Um..." Rakutsu said. "Uhhhhh hi um Officer Gray?" 

And then Gray started to cry, which was WOAH.

Rakutsu was like "Oh hey hey hey.. what did I do?"

"I- I- thought you were dead," Gray sobbed. "...my l-l-little brother, Kuro." <<A/N: Kuro means black in Japanese>>

I can't believe it. My brother.. he really IS alive. I almost forgot what he looked like. If not for Aunt Clare's old pictures, I would have not recognize him. That chocolate brown hair from our mother, an opposite of my father and I's blonde one. That rare gray eyes we share. 

After these nine years thinking he was dead... And two years searching the rest of Unova region to find him... he was under my nose the whole time! 

"I'm never gonna leave you again, Kuro. I swear on my life, little brother."

<<Aaaand Rakutsu's POV>>

Little brother? Kuro?

"Wait, what? Um Officer Gray, you must be-"

A memory flashes inside my head. A ship. Laughter. Blonde hair. Gray eyes. A name I can't recall.

"I- I-"

Cold. Rain. Lightning. Then blackness.

Sand. Sunlight. A woman.

Mother.

"A-are y-you?" I sputtered. Could it be? My family? Could they be alive? Is Gray... my sister?

"So you do remember!" Gray wiped tears from her eyes. "You were too young when that happened... That doesn't matter now! What matters is that you're here" 

I heard Faitsu gasp. "You're Rakutsu's family?"

Gray grinned. "Rakutsu huh? At least you got a better name than mine. I didn't know you raised my little brother, thank you."

"Oh, thank our mother. I mean- my mother."

There were so many things happening at once I can't comprehend. But I've got this weird satisfying warm feeling inside of me, like a riddle has been solved or I've found something important.

"Hey," Hyuu ruined the moment. Hyuu was always talented in ruining moments. "In case you guys still care, a grunt is escaping!"

And gone was that compassionate Gray.

"Draco, let's play catch, shall we?" 

Faster than I could see, the unnaturally huge Hydreigon tackled the Team Plasma grunt. The grunt trembled in fear.

"What's your plan?" Gray snapped.

"Like heck I'll tell y-"

"Draco?"

"NO NO! I was kidding! Please don't kill me! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" the grunt burst into tears. "We're just c-catching wild Pokémon and s-stealing from trainers! A-and the s-scientist told us to strap them up in the machines h-h-he sent and-"

"Yeah I know that part already," Gray rolled her eyes. "Who's the scientist?"

"I- I d-dont-" 

"You don't want your arm pulled off right?"

"NO PLEASE! I- I don't know! He's always hooded! He n-never reveals his face! Please! Don't kill me!"

Wait. Hooded? Scientist?

Gray sighed as she tied him back up. Black helped her and the random blonde guy started to call someone with his XTransceiver. I wonder who he is.

"I think I know who the scientist is," I said.

"Colress," Faitsu and Hyuu spoke up. SO that's HIS name.

"Colress? I'm gonna check that name later in the database. You guys have met him, right? Good, I'd interview you guys later," she smiled at me. "What a weird family reunion."

"Hey Gray, you're not really gonna cut his arm off aren't you?" I heard Black whisper.

"Of course not! It's military trash talk!"

One hour later...

"So you lost your XTransceiver and met the Shadow Triad," I asked the blonde guy, whose name was Christoph and who I secretly think is an admirer of Faitsu. "Must be a big day."

"Yes," he said as he checked his XTransceiver. "And looks like my man- I mean, parents are asking for me. I'm sorry, I really have to go." 

"No rush. Go ahead," I shrugged. 

"Hey man," Hyuu said as he glared at Christoph. I'm not surprised. He glares at everyone he doesn't know. "I'm thinking about joining your sister in hunting Team Plasma."

"What? You mean, you're gonna ditch me and Faitsu?" I said. WOAH. Hyuu must really hate Team Plasma and Faitsu must be careful around him. I know revenge is not healthy but stopping Hyuu from getting what he wants is more unhealthy. 

"What? NO! Not yet anyway. I have to get stronger and maybe I can find what Team Plasma stole from my sister. But thanks man, thanks for supporting me," he said.

Hyuu getting all this... sweet... really unnerves me.

"Uhh sure bro. That's what friends are for, right?"
