28: A History Lesson

"It sure is hot," I commented as we went for another field trip to Reversal Mountain, which is, actually, a volcano. A very ACTIVE volcano. 

"Well, we're just going to pass through here for a bit. You know, check up on our Rangers and security and stuff. Then we'll head on to Undella Town. What a shame it's almost winter. We can't have a swim," Gray exclaimed halfheartedly. 

"I don't care about swimming so whatever," I responded, kicking a random rock on the path to the Reversal Mountain. I saw random Rangers in the area and a few members of the International Police on the road and nearby forests. "What's the check for?"

"Well, a very powerfulPokémon resides in the volcano and we can't afford Team Plasma to capture or hurt that Pokémon. Or any Pokémon for that matter," she replied. 

That's understandable. 

We were almost at the mouth of one of Reversal Mountain's caves when I saw a familiar figure with blonde hair and wearing an orange jacket and glasses. "Hey guuuuuuys!!! I can't believe you're here, too!" Bianca waved us over.

"Hey, Bianca, long time no see," Gray said as she high-fived Bianca. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh you know, running errands for Professor Juniper. With Cheren actually, though Cheren has finished with his work yesterday. He was with Black," Bianca turned to me. "Hey, Hyuu. Remember me? How's your Snivy by the way?"

I was surprised she remember my second Pokemon. "Oh Snivy's fine," I took him out of his Poké Ball.

Bianca looked worried. "It still hasn't evolved?"

"I had Snivy hold an Everstone. I'm going to let him evolve when I'm ready," I answered. I was really planning to store Snivy's energy for my final battle. The battle against whoever stole my sister's Purrloin.

"Oh okay. You have to be careful, though. Snivy may have difficulties in sudden evolution. It may not be healthy for him."

Snivy huffed pridefully. "I'm pretty sure Snivy can handle it. I'm monitoring Snivy everyday and I'm making sure he's safe. I'm not one of those selfish Team Plasma grunts. I take care of my Pokémon."

"I'm glad to hear that. Anyway, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Bianca led the way towards Reversal Mountain. 

It was really hot inside, like I was in a boiling pot. We occasionally passed random wild Pokémon, a few Ace Trainers and hikers who wanted to battle. Bianca and Gray left me to deal with them though sometimes Gray's Zoroark and Bianca's Musharna helped my Vibrava in dealing with annoying Zubats. They were really strong trainers, I'll give them that. We have to pass across normal lakes and lava lakes inside. 

I think my skin is burning. "Any news about Faitsu?"

"I'm sorry, Hyuu. We're searching everywhere but we still don't have any news about the Plasma Frigate. I'm sure Faitsu is fine," Bianca said as we passed another cave.

"Once we get a hold of Ghetsis and Colress, I'm going to make sure they'll be fried in here," I said, feeling my anger boil as hot as this volcano's lava.

A small platoon of IP and UDF suddenly approached us. I'm quite amazed how they survive inside of those probably burning uniforms inside an already burning cave. Gray saluted the Platoon Leader and flashed her badge as the Platoon Leader saluted back.

"You're Officer Gray, I presume?" 

"Yes, sir," she retrieved a folder from her backpack and handed them to the soldier. "These are the files you requested from Director Looker. I believe this is the data about the legendary Pokémon called Heatran?"
