39: Reunited

The Swords of Justice ran towards the Giant Chasm like the wind. The three of them had sensed another war and were anything but amused by the news. But amidst the mayhem, they had sensed hearts worthy of their help and so they will come.

'Another war, brothers. Humans have showed their foolishness and greed time and time again.' Cobalion spoke telepathically. 

'But you have found someone worthy, haven't you not?' Virizion replied, dodging trees. They were getting nearer.

'Yes. And only you, Terrakion, have doubts,' Cobalion spoke.

'The one that I had chosen has been clouded with vengeance and hatred. Though he has shown willpower and strength in order to protect those he loves, he may still be corrupted by human selfishness,' Terrakion sternly answered. 

They could already feel the cold radiating off the empty dragon of the Giant Chasm. The shouts of Pokémon and humans alike echoed through the cavern walls and reached the ears of the Swords of Justice. Their hearts melted with pity for their brethren and those humans who fight to protect their partners. But, as powerful as they are, they merely dodged and ran past the battle because it was not their destiny to fight them, for their destiny was meant for another battle.

<<Rakutsu's POV>>

I watched in slow motion as the Shadow Triad put their hands down as my own hands reached for Victini's, the Victory Pokémon, Poké Ball.

Not a few days ago, Black told me to only use your trump card when everything is lost. Well, I must say I'm an obedient kid.

My thumb pushed the button at the center of the Poké Ball just as their arms went midway. But before Victini was released or the impossibly strong Absol, Gallade and Lucario could end our lives, a strong wind hit our enemies, sending them sprawling to the Frigate's ground. Stray leaves and dust from the outside blocked our view until it settled, revealing three, glorious Pokémon. 

The three of us could only watch in awe as the green, stag-like Pokémon and the huge brownone resembling a bull stood tall while the majestic blue one merely glared at Gallade, Lucario and Absol. The three opponent Pokémon froze under the glare of the blue leader. They bowed their heads and hesitantly looked at the ground.

Deep inside, I wanted to bow too.

"Virizion..." Faitsu whispered beside me. She probably met one of these legendary before. I can't believe our luck. It's a huge honor to meet a legendary and save your life.

"Well, the Swords of Justice have come to interrupt Lord Ghetsis' orders!" one of the ninjas announced.

"What a shame we have come prepared!" the third one threw three spheres (which I now realized as Poké Balls) towards the three legendaries. However, before they could hit the surprised Pokémon, a burst of flame scorched them to useless, sphere junks. Victini, who was silently biding his time behind us, gave us a small peace sign. 

'How dare you human!' a powerful, male voice spoke inside my head. Was that Cobalion? 

'Once again, your selfishness will bring upon your downfall!' this time, a female voice rang inside my head. 'Young one, I give you the right to command me into battle!' Virizion turned to Faitsu, who was just as shocked as me.

'And you, human, I have witnessed your heart of steel,' Cobalion's golden eyes pierced right through my soul. 'Like your sister, I deem you to be worthy to command me as well!'

Did she just mentioned that she met Gray? My brain couldn't keep up on what's happening. But I'm pretty sure Cobalion just offered me a chance to fight Team Plasma, to fight for Unova, to fight for what we think is right. Not to mention it's a chance of a lifetime.
