To the one who slipped away.

I never knew love, or so I thought,
Until we parted, and my heart was caught.
It took me forever to realize,
You were the missing piece, my heart's surprise.
Your smile lit up my day,
Made living worth it, every step of the way.
You were my beacon in the dark,
My heart's happiness, my shining spark.
The urge to kiss you when you looked so sweet,
Wasn't love, or so I tried to beat.
But now I know, it was love all along,
My heart belongs to you, my sweet, sweet song.
You invaded my dreams, a love so true,
I was lost in darkness, until I found you.
My heart beats for you, like a drum in my chest,
When you're near, my love, I'm at my best.
If only you could come back to me,
My love would never end, it's plain to see.
A love so pure, so strong, so real,
But I never knew, until you flew away, and I could feel.
My feelings locked inside, unable to confess,
Now you're gone, and I'm left with this mess.
I wish I could turn back time, make you stay,
But love, it seems, had other plans, and now you're away.
In your absence, I'm left to grieve,
Longing for your touch, my heart does plead.
Memories of you, they linger on,
A bittersweet reminder of what's gone.
But still, I hold on to the love we shared,
A flame that burns bright, though you're no longer there.
And who knows, maybe someday you'll see,
The love I had for you, and still have, wild and free.
