To the ones who have been wounded by words.

The tongue is delicate, yet oh so strong,
It can shatter lives, and last all life long.
It breaks hearts, and trust is lost,
Leaving scars that forever count the cost.

None know the power it holds inside,
Until hurt feelings and emotions collide.
A heart shatters into a thousand parts,
By a tongue so sharp, it cuts like a dart.

With just one word, it can crush a dream,
Leave scars that never fully beam.
It plants seeds of doubt, and painful fear,
And brings tears to those who held love dear.

Memories of joy now mock and tease,
A bittersweet reminder of what's been seized.
The silence is deafening, the hurt runs deep,
A heart once full, now lies in troubled sleep.

So let's weep for the words that cut so deep,
And mourn the love that's lost, the heart that's lost its beat.
For the tongue is delicate, yet deadly too,
A tool that can destroy, me and you.
