To the realisation that true validation comes from within.

I searched for answers in others' eyes,
For a glimpse of truth, a surprise.
Disgust, hatred, admiration, love,
Each face a reflection, sent from above.

But as I wandered, lost in their gaze,
I realized the truth, in a daze.
Only I knew the real me, inside,
The depths of my soul, where emotions reside.

None knew my story, my struggles, my strife,
Their perceptions were tainted, by their own life.
We see others through our own lens,
A filtered view, a biased trend.

I didn't care for their reasons why,
Their opinions, a mere whisper, passing by.
For I knew myself, my strengths and flaws,
And only I could help myself, and my heart applause.

So I rose above, and started anew,
Building a life, with a heart that's true.
No longer seeking validation, or praise,
For I knew my worth, in my own ways.
