what if we do a bake sale?" Moon inquired seriously from her spot on the bed. "People love food, especially baked goods. I mean, we aren't the most obese nation for no reason."
Rory hummed in agreement, mulling over the thought. "That's not a bad idea actually."
"We can make all kinds of sweet goods. It'll be perfect." Moon beamed excitedly, her eyes twinkling with childlike wonder, "We can do cookies, brownies, cupcakes — OMG My mom makes the best snickerdoodles."
"Oh yeah," Sam chimed from the floor. "I remember when she brought a plate of those to a PTO meeting last year. They were so good."
Rory raised a brow, " Moon, I don't remember you having such a good track record with baking."
"I don't." Moon tilted her head, chuckling nervously, "I don't like the stove—or oven really. But that's okay. We'll just have to be super duper vigilant."
"Right." Sam trailed off hesitantly, "Let's add that to the maybe jar."
Rory laughed, twirling in Moon's spinny desk chair. "We need something that's super convenient—but will also bring in a lot of cash."
"We also need something that's fun," Sam added, "Makes it so it doesn't feel like a chore."
"So a fundraiser that's not a fundraiser?" Moon questioned.
"Exactly."
The trio had been sitting in Moon's room for about an hour now exchanging ideas back and forth with each other. Rory had informed them about Miguel's situation and her plan to help the Diaz family out.
