that this is a good idea, grams?" Rory breathed out, concern etched on her features. "I mean you just started this new regimen a few weeks ago—"

"Yes—" Adele said swiftly with a roll of her eyes. "I haven't felt this good in years. It's about time I got out of this house. It's not healthy to be cooped up inside for extended periods of time."

It was true.

Adele seemed to be better than she'd ever been. The older lady seemed more buoyant, enthusiastic, and talkative.

Whatever was in her dose of meds this time around seemed to be working.

There had been no hiccups or mishaps in quite some time, leaving both of them more hopeful than ever.

According to Adele, she's never felt better. So much so that she was going to be volunteering at Valley West General Hospital in her free time.

Evidently, Carmen had given her the idea.

The Woman had been a nurse for 15 years in her early days, and apparently, the two moms seemed to bond over their shared experiences while Miguel had been in the hospital.

Adele noticed her hesitance still, "I am fine." She said, engulfing her granddaughter in a brief hug, "I promise."

Rory hugged her back and then silently watched her go."Now don't wait up on me! I'll be back home later tonight."

It was weird.

She had gotten so used to taking care of her grandmother at all hours of the day but now that she was no longer needed, Rory couldn't help but feel useless.
