Tom Riddle led us down the stone steps from the Entrance Hall. We descended deep into the dungeons, the chill of the stone walls seeping through our robes. The atmosphere was cool and slightly damp. Eventually, we reached a bare stretch of stone wall. Tom stopped and turned to face us.
"This is the entrance to our common room," he announced, his voice carrying authority and pride. "The password changes every fortnight and is posted on the noticeboard. Remember that no students from other houses are allowed to enter."
He spoke the current password clearly: "Pureblood."

The wall seemed to shimmer and a passageway opened up, revealing the Slytherin common room. As we stepped inside, I was struck by the grand yet cold atmosphere.
The room was dungeon-like, with greenish lamps casting an eerie glow and creating shadows that danced along the stone walls. The light had a green tinge, undoubtedly because the room extended partway under the Black Lake. Just like I've read in the book of "Hogwarts: a history".

Through the windows, I could see the murky waters of the lake, with sea plants swaying rhythmically and occasional glimpses of fish swimming.
