The burning sunset rays filtered through the waters of Atlantica, casting a serene glow over the palace. I felt a heaviness in my heart as I prepared for the journey ahead. After the decision was made, I needed time alone, so I swam to my secret grotto, the one place where I could think and work in peace.

My grotto was my sacred sanctuary. I had spent countless hours here. Today, I was going to create a potion to transform my dolphin friend, Coral, into a cat so he could accompany me on land. I wouldn't go up there without him. I will definitely need his company.

I followed my instincts and knowledge, gathering the necessary ingredients as I never made a fish transform to a land pet before. I really wish the spell would work. From a hidden shelf, I retrieved various rare items I collected: a scale from a rainbow fish for adaptability, a pinch of seahorse dust for agility and a dead crab shell for durability. As I placed the ingredients into the cauldron, the water bubbled and changed colors. I added a dolphin bone for the essence of Coral's true form and a single whisker from a sea lion, which would help him adapt to his new feline nature.

But as I searched my shelves, I realized with a sinking heart that I was missing a crucial ingredient: a real cat's hair.

Without the essence of a cat, I couldn't complete the potion. My mind raced, trying to think of a substitute but nothing came to mind. Just then, I heard a voice behind me. "You have quite a talent for potions, Adrian."

I turned to see my grandfather, Triton, standing there. He was holding a small box in his hands and his expression was a mix of pride and sadness.

"Grandfather" I said, surprised. "I didn't hear you come in."

Triton smiled. "You were deep in concentration. I'm impressed with your skills."

He handed me the box and as I opened it, I found a beautiful golden nautilus shell necklace inside. It glimmered in the dim light of the grotto.

"Is this...?" I asked.

?" I asked

"Yes. This is the ancient necklace of my father Poseidon." Triton explained. "He gave to my sister Ursula so we can rule side by side. After she died, I saved the remains of the broken shell and gave them to Dumbledore to hide in Hogwarts, knowing there's no safer place. Now that I fixed it -Thanks to the Trident's Power- it is time for it to help you on your journey."

(Note: The necklace is extremely powerful, it can contain all the waters from the world's rivers, oceans and seas, making a strong vessel to hold any power. It grants the ability to shape-shift, allows to hypnotize others even on land and grants ability to cast very powerful spells.)

I looked down at the potion, my frustration evident. "I couldn't finish the spell to transform Coral into a cat. I'm missing an ingredient."

Triton placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry about that. I'll take care of Coral's transformation."

As he placed the necklace around my neck, it began to glow as if it recognized me. The light it emitted was warm and reassuring, filling me with a sense of connection to my family's legacy. Poseidon's legacy.

"This necklace will allow you to retain some of your siren abilities on land, as your powers are limited out of the sea" Triton continued. "You will be able to control sea currents and even use your siren voice to enchant human's ears when you're out of water. Moreover, it holds the power of ancient lore from my father Poseidon, opening paths to great forms of magic. But there are limitations you must be aware of. First, your mermaid voice will have its full effect only within a certain range of the water. Once you venture too far inland, its power will diminish, making it less effective or entirely non-functional. The enchanting effects of your voice will only last for a limited time when used above the sea. After a certain duration, the influence fades, allowing individuals to regain their free will and rationality. Do you understand?"

I nodded, feeling the weight of the responsibility. "I promise to use it wisely, Grandfather." With one last look at my grotto, I asked, "Can you keep this place safe for me?"

Triton smiled. "Of course. It will be here waiting for you."

I collected some potions, rare sea ingredients I wouldn't find on land and a box of pearls and shells, placing them carefully in my bag. Who knows what spell I would need them for. With everything packed, we both swam back to the palace.

In the grand hall, my family was gathered to bid me farewell

In the grand hall, my family was gathered to bid me farewell. I hugged each of them tightly, feeling the love and concern in their embraces. My mother held me close, her eyes drowning sadness. "Be safe, my love. Remember, no matter where you are, our hearts are with you."

"I will, Mother" I whispered, trying to act tough and strong.

My older sister hugged me next. "You're going to do great things, Adrian. Just remember to stay true to yourself. I'm sorry for being a pain in the arse."

"I'm sorry for trying to harm you. Take care of everyone while I'm gone."

My sisters, cousins and aunts each took their turns, offering words of encouragement and love. Even my dolphin friend Coral swam up to me, his eyes full of excitement.

"Can I come with you?" Coral asked.

I smiled. "I can't do it without you. That's why my grandpa has gift for you."

Coral squealed in happiness and with a final glance around, I saw my family waving their hands, their faces a mix of pride and sadness. With my bag and everything I needed, I headed to the surface with my grandfather, Coral, Sebastian, and Diana, who had insisted on coming along.

The journey ahead was daunting but with my family's love and the necklace's power, I felt ready to face whatever lay ahead. What's the worse thing that could happen? Falling from a flying broom?
